Sniper!

You could see the passing discombobulating the Devils on that series. Real nice.

Must say Knuble looks like he's gotten his second wind, playing much better of late.

He was only playing because the Russkie had a bad groin and the Czech one good eye. It will be back to the minors for Holtby when his 'elders' get healthier. Great for his development, though. Realistically, he was never auditioning for the 2011 playoffs. He was standing in while the Capitals' two goaltenders recovered from injury. He'll help Hershey in the playoffs, assuming the Capitals have three healthy goaltenders in April.

Hard to say. He could get in more games. If Boudreau had his way, though, the Caps would get all three ready to go, would demote the kid and start playing the guy who is going to play in the post-season before the playoffs start.

Neuvirth is probably going to start in the post-season, a decision essentially made because Varlamov hasn't played in forever. All bets are off if the two of them are not healthy, though. Right now, Varlamov is not healthy, but they can start giving Neuvirth regular action to get ready.

BTW - yes, I realize I am in the minority, but I love the Devils' Red, White & Green uins. Wish they never had switched. I'd like them a lot more than I currently don't.

I don't know that the aesthetic color scheme is poor, per se, but for me the transition from Mickey Mouse org to Cup winner is closely associated with the move from green to black (even if video evidence suggests it was not as stark as all that; there was overlap). The Devils' current duds have that elegant simplicity going for them, and it's one of the best, iconic non-Original Six uniforms in the game.

It's so strong a feel for me that when Minnesota introduced their RWG uniforms, the first thought that entered my head was Mickey Mouse.

Varlamov is made of glass ; when he came back to Hershey last year for conditioning, there was an extra ambulance on hand, engine running, just for him.
