USA != America. I believe it says North American though. Saying America is the US is like saying Obama is the president of North America (I've heard that many times in the Portuguese news. It's irritating). It's wrong.

EDIT: Apparently it's America. It's even worse than I thought.

We have the best fans in the NHL and it's not even close. One of the best fan bases in North American professional sports.

They do stupid crap, but I'll take their often misplaced passion over needing stupid jumbotron games just to get fans to make some noise in some arenas. Even other sellout crowds are like a library; a friend from Sweden recently went to a Rangers game and was surprised at how lifeless the crowd at MSG was.

Our fans are too "European" for their macho idea of what sports fans should be, so what. We don't need the love of xenophobic idiots like Don Cherry and the majority of US sports commentators.

It would be funny to see all the failing franchise poll too. I don't get why MTL gets bashed for the Fans. Yes Philly and Boston aren't there when Philly's fan's are a bunch of goons and Boston's team are a bunch of goons . And last but certainly not least the Penguins fans who have been fans since Crosby came into town. I other words . Band-wagoners.

Well, according to HFBoards (AKA the fans) that distinction belongs to the inferiority complex stricken Canucks fans

I think I'm going to change my facebook status, quotable material right there.

As much as I hate to admit it, it's pretty accurate at times.

What's he saying that's not true? We are terrible fans for the most part. What he fails to mention is we're also the best fan base in "America."

Who cares? Habs fans have done some crazy stuff. Whether or not we belong on the list is a matter of opinion. I think a lot of people would agree with GQ's opinion. Maybe even I do. But whatever.

The riots are dumb, but the Habs are a payday for every other team in the league. You could hear the roar at MSG when they scored.

I guess they prefer atlanta, phoenix, tampa bay, islanders, nj fans... ohh wait these clubs hardly have fans. Honestly have u ever heard someone say they are scared of going to the bell center??? Other fans loves to come to bell center. Why? Cuz we know how to cheer. Unlike boston or philly fans who keep harassing other teams fans. I guess this year is lets hate on the habs.

Best fans are often views as bad fans from other cities.Hey , building filled each and every game, great team, many injuries still winning, fast but small team, passionnate fans at each games...who cares about what they thing?lol

Too funny.

Hating frenchies is cool!!! Although uneducated USA people just doesnt know that we are not from France...and that players in their team are mostly from CANADA and often "frenchies" as they like to called them...
Bergeron in Boston is the top looser of the year...He didnt stand up for the hit on Pacioretty, even though his career was almost done for the same thing...and then he doesn't stand up to say that he IS from CANADA and MTL.
No respect whatsoever for that type of person.

The hit wasn't the "same thing," not even close. He was hit from behind, not from the side; he was out for months; and it took him more than a year to totally recover.

And speaking of "uneducated" fans, Bergeron isn't from Montreal. He's from L'Ancienne-Lorette, a suburb of Quebec City. Just fyi, he was a Nordiques fan as a child and grew up loathing the Canadiens.

Zing.

That being said, we've had to educate some Bruins fans on the matter ourselves. But well played sir.
