Goalie

Who do you guys think will be the Number 1 goalie in Buffalo? I say we give Mika a shot at the starter. Or do you think Biron deserves it?

I think you have to give Biron the starting job because what he has done in the past. But I would give Mika a chance and then base the rest of the season on that. I would love to see Mika get the job and trade away Biron but when you get to the playoffs can you really ride on the back of Mika? Thats when you will want Biron back.

When you get to the playoffs you will want Biron back? Based on what? I would prefer Mika but we don't know whose back we can ride into the playoffs, since we haven't been there since Dom left. All I know is that Biron has had three years to prove himself and he hasn't gotten us in the playoffs on his back, that's for sure.
It's time to see if Mika or someone else can get us there imo. Trade Biron. He's had plenty of time to improve and it ain't happening.

And Noronen has really made a strong bid for the starting position? When the entire team is playing like crap, why is there a need to blame one player? Especially considering how close we came this season?

Noronen hasn't had nearly the chance to prove himself as Biron has. Maybe Noronen is not the guy, we won't know until he is given a legitimate shot. I'm not blaming one player in Biron. I'm saying he is a big part of the reason we don't make the playoffs. How many more years will it take to convince you that Marty isn't the guy to take us all the way? He's had three years so far. And don't bother making excuses for him, a good goalie can handle pressure and controversy.

They shouldn't even dress a goalie. Dress 5 defensemen and one forward.

I'm thinking the same thing. Anyone interested in the goalie debate should first dig down to the Biron-Noronen thread, read the whole damn thing, then see if they have anything at all new to add. If so, great. If not...

I'll refrain from picking sides here, but the fact of the matter is that if one doesn't get traded, everybody's screwed.
