Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden: Game #72 vs. Montreal Canadiens

Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden

The RulesWhat is the poll for?

You are voting for the player of the game - the one who put forth the most effort, who put the team on his shoulders, who contributed the most.

Do not vote for the player who had the best statistical game just because he had the best statistical game.

This does not mean you should not vote for the player of who had the best statistical game, but do not vote for him just because of that fact.

Who can I vote for?

You may vote for any player who dressed for the game and played at least one shift. If the player you want to vote for is not included in the poll, select "Other" and indicate in your post who you wish to vote for. In the case that I egregiously miss the player who everyone wants to vote for in the poll, I will count the votes in the thread.

What is this "The Good, The Bad, The Redden" nonsense?

It is my twist on the title of the famous spaghetti western movie, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Since multiple players may have outstanding games and you can only vote for one player in the poll, this affords you the opportunity to recognize multiple players, or a facet of the team, for their commendable play ("The Good"). This also affords you the opportunity to rip players, or a facet of the team, for their particularly substandard play ("The Bad"). Finally, just as "The Player of the Game" affords you the opportunity to recognize the best, this affords you the opportunity to commend the crème de la crème of the worst, who delivered an atrocious performance, or whose singular (or multiple) bad plays directly led to the the detriment of the team ("The Redden").

Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy

The Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy is awarded to the player who most exemplifies the qualities that Alex brought to the ice game in and game out. Most notable was his talent for wraparounds. Thusly, this award is given to the player who has the most wraparound attempts throughout the game.

The award tonight goes to Ryan Callahan/Vaclav Prospal, both with 1 wraparound attempt against Montreal.

What a headache of a game. Rangers buckled down hard in the 3rd though, good for them.

POTG: Henrik

Good: All of the forwards, staal, girardi and eminger (besides the Lundqvist thing he was solid)

Bad: McDonagh? eh once again an up and down game

Redden: McCabe was a disgrace tonight, every single shift. I hate PK Subban and James Wisniewski so ****ing badly.

POTG: Lundqvist, for his accomplishment and some sick saves.
The Good: Offense from almost everyone, Decent powerplay tonight, played agressive and tough
The Bad: The second period was a SNOOZE FEST, McCabe dive
The Redded: That M************** Pouliot

Shaky game, except for the first 20 minutes. Hope Lundy's alright.

Every Ranger fan must pray Hank is okay. He made some sick saves but wish he got that 2nd goal as that was a bit weak. Other than that he was a beast tonight.

I thought the Boyle line was very good again, just wish Pruster finished that one when he was all alone but we ended up not needing it.

Redden: Letting the Habs get back in the game, the officiating, PK *******, and Pouliot

POTG: Prust

Good: Prust setting the tone early with a fight, Gaborik with a timely goal, Sauer making Subban look like a puss, Ole chant

Bad: Callahan throwing his head back trying to buy a couple calls, he's better than that

Redden: Subban, Pouliot

May I also add...

The Good: The Caps

The Bad: The Islanders

The Redden: Long Island still has a franchise.

The Redden part deux: Kansas City doesn't.

Really good game IMO. Jumped out to an early lead, weathered the expected come-back quite well and pulled off a good win. If it wasn't for some great goal-tending by Auld the score would have been a lot worse for Montreal.

POTG - for mine it's between Dubi and Cally, with the edge going to Cally.
The good - the whole team played quite well. Lundy was good, pretty much all the forwards were engaged and for the most part the D kept the habs to the outside and broke up their transition game pretty well.
The bad - Possible injury to hank aside, the only thing I can think of is the ease in which the habs players seen to go down.
The redden - nadda

POTG: Ryan Callahan
Good: First period, we were all over them. Played quick and hard
Bad: 2nd period, had a big lead but no reason to let them get those goals
Redded: PK. Pretending to want to fight after the ref steps in, and then being a tough guy to his team mates as he gets to the bench.

This is the greatest parody song in history, and boy is it great beating the Habs.

Hey as much as people hate Gary Bettman, he has sure turned this league around as popularity in the US and maybe more importantly overseas has skyrocketed the past few years.
