DC over Charleston too for me (although I'll admit to being a fan of major cities.) The DC metro area is a fantastic place to raise a family imo, and I stayed put even with the opportunity to move pretty much anywhere in the country.

its interesting listening to the hockey heads talking. they thinks its a great idea for the caps to be resting ovechkin for the playoffs, but at the same time they think any team coasting or resting players at the end of the season is setting themselves up as a first round upset victim to a team thats on a roll getting in.

then they say whoever gets the rangers in the first round are doomed. either being upset or beatup to the point where they are an easy out in the second round. the capitals, they say, are the best potential first round opponent for the rangers and certainly dead if they get the rangers.

so....doom is the word of the day.

It's fun to analyze a game in advance or evaluate a team's postseason prospects. Doing it for money is even better, if you can get the gig. But as Hollywood screenwriter William Goldman once said, NOBODY KNOWS ANYTHING.

Coming from a Flyers fan, Chris Pronger is the most important player on the Flyers and it really isn't that close. No one can replace what he does.

Their record without him seems to suggest that they have found a way to replace what he does.

No seriously!!

I think they've decided to rest 442 for 7 to 10 days, possible upper body injury.

whoa whoa whoa... waaaay too much info released right there. Change it to "possible body injury" and then send it out.

Absolutely correct, that's what I get for allowing my unpaid intern to post without my prior review and approval.

Your just complimenting the team then. Who do you think their best player is? And that post doesn't even make any sense. Tell me what dman on the Flyers replaces what Pronger does?

my take on the rangers vs the capitals in the playoffs is not the competitiveness of the games, but the outcome. they can win that in 4 or 5 hard fought games. they will be close and low scoring. just win them. 7 of them would be bad.

they formula those guys use means that the caps automatically drop 3 spots next week with ovechkin out of the lineup. ,,,,,,if i have to hear, "it is high, it is far, it is gone" one more freaking time....geez.....now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Yet every time Backstrom scores a goal while Ovechkin is out, it's proof that Ovechkin's points are due to the talent around him.

It's unfortunate those guys just refused to let Crosby make them better.

Haven't they been beating almost exclusively non-playoff teams though, lately? So doing what they need to do, but disappointing vs. the tougher competition? I have no doubt they're feeling the loss of Pronger in a pretty big way against the better teams.

he's making them better by proxy... thats how good Crosby is. all he has to do is be near you and you become better at what you do... almost Chuck Norris-esque, but in a more positive way.
