Be warned that if anyone here is going to the game up there, a loud and belligerent Flyers fan at VC was making sure everyone heard that if any of us show up up there he and his fellow Flyer fans there would make sure to lock us in a toilet stall.

They must put something in the water up in Philly, most classless sports fans in the world, polite society just plain does not enter their vocabulary.

Therefore implying that he's not their most important player. Important players are missed when they're out.

If you've ever started a GDT and put a lot of effort into it and maybe wondered "Do I have no life?" you need to read this http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=893849 on the Flyers board. It puts said ours to bitter shame

yeah. i'm a little underwhelmed by this GDT myself. it's not focused enough on hockey to be good-good and it's not bizarrely off-topic enough to be bad-good.

i'm going to post a random lolcat just to see if that shakes things up.

we choose not to do a gdt like its the nfl today. while the flyers gdt opener is big its also canned. its the same every time with minor changes. if we had gdt opens like that, i would read them.

my fav this season was strungs that started, "yea" and that was it.

then they say whoever gets the rangers in the first round are doomed. either being upset or beatup to the point where they are an easy out in the second round. the capitals, they say, are the best potential first round opponent for the rangers and certainly dead if they get the rangers.

so....doom is the word of the day.
I've been saying that Boston and New York are the two teams I don't want to face in the playoffs for a while now.

Eh, I think it's just something about the blue collar culture of Philly combined with, largely, sports futility when it matters most. They had some good teams in the 70s and early 80s in Philly, but then went through 25 years with no championship (despite numerous close calls), which meant the places they could rest their laurels were on rivalry games (ie, my team is better than your team).
That and even their great teams were, to say, a little "rough around the edges." The Broad Street Bullies were hardly a gentleman's team, and that bred the hockey culture, specifically.
The city's own culture combined with the attitude of its teams made for a sandpaper group of fans (though the fans at almost any NFL game are going to be dicks).

If there's an inferiority complex, it's not towards DC. It's towards New York.

boston. who knows what boston will be like come playoffs. right now they suck. their fan base is in the familiar fire the coach or we are doomed frenzie. thomas is horrible. rask is rusty. the pp has one goal since kaberle was acquired.

maybe they work their way thru that. if the caps get them in the first round, obviously they will not have.

rangers could be the same way. who knows. they are doing reasonably well right now, but if gaborik is shutdown, they dont have any offense. their defense is young and inexperienced.

we will see

Well, they're fantasy rankings, and the Caps aren't exactly a powerhouse for fantasy hockey this year...

They score more than we do, and Bryz is more of a threat for better goaltending stats. But I don't know the total details of how he calculates it.
