Every time Vanek has lost a battle or made a mistake, he has ended up breaking up the play at the other end. Very good to see it has stayed that way.

Good period overall.
I still think we need more jump, but considering who we are playing I thnk we have kept up skating with them.
It would be nice to see Stafford or Vanek pop one in for their confidence.
Miller looks dynamite.

Solid 1st period. Nice puck possession in the offensive zone.

Wow.
Buffalo was skating hard that entire period. Other than our defensemen being too tentative to shoot the puck, especially on the PP, that was a flawless, defensively beautiful period.
Keep it up guys!

I noticed that too, real strong on the backcheck, recoverying the puck and moving it quickly.
I'm liking how they've got a lot of short passing options coming out of the zone so far.

Miller looks sharp and focused tonight, good positioning. Our defense looks good too, I bet Lindy went over that during practice.
Unfortunately our power play looks especially atrocious

Absolutely, I'm a big fan of it so far. Not getting the puck out of the zone might be the most frustrating thing to me and giving more short options is a good way to avoid that problem.

They need to keep that up -- Martin coached teams are all about pouncing on turnovers.
