Stepping Up In The Playoffs

Last year despite great coaching and tremendous defense, Halak and Cammalleri had an incredible playoff run. Who do you think will really step it up for us this playoffs and take us all the way to the finals? Is you had to choose 3 players.

I say

Price
Subban
Eller

seriously. i have a good feeling about him too. If im and Eller continue the way theyve been playing, they should tear it up in the POs

I see great things coming from Eller in the near future. I have never seen him play with so much confidence.

I also think Pouliot is really starting to find his mojo. He found himself in a couple bad spots with penalties for a few games in a row, but he really played hard against the Wild. Maybe it just had to do with playing at his old rink, but I hope the trend continues.

Gonna go with Gomez, the guy know's he has had a terrible season and the only way to get a little going his way is if he gives it his all come playoff time. I really think he will step it up big time

I'd be (happily) surprised if DD or Eller ''step-up'' come playoff time.

I see them playing well, but not necessarily being impact.

Logic to me would be seeing a ''step up'' from guys like Plekanec or AK.

Young vets that haven't had their breakout playoff performances yet.

Of course, Gomez, Cammy, Gionta are expected to show-up, with lots of hopes that Gomez regains some top 6 form.

I fully expect Pouliot to be non-existent - he seems to play big when the other teams don't - which is not going to cut it come PO time.

So how many rings do we have on the team?

Gomez X2
Gionta
Moen
Gill
Sopel

Did I miss anyone? Also Hammer and Spacek have both gone to game seven of the SCF.

Hammer should already have a cup ring IMO. The Flames had that game 6 OT winner and play just stopped. There was no video review and the puck clearly crossed the line.

I think that's gotta be one of the worst calls in NHL history.

As for stepping up:

Gomez
AK
Price
Subby-Doo

Going out on a limb here... Jeff Halpern. Character vet. He will own the faceoff circle and play like he did at the start of the year.

I'm hoping we see some good stuff from Pleks, Pouliot, Gomez. The first two because they didn't have a great year last post season, mostly Pouliot.. and Gomez well you know, we want him to come off strong after a mediocre season.

Plek had great PO last season. You probably just didn't pay attention to what his role was.

Great is an overstatement. He was solid defensively, average offensively.

Everyone will step up, except for Pouliot.
