Caps most likely 1st round opponent

Why should anyone give the Caps the benefit of the doubt in the playoffs? We've been horrible in it over the years. So of course people are going to use history against us. Peyton friggin' Manning was called a playoffs choker until he won a Super Bowl.

Anyway, I already said this, but I really want the Rangers. And I hope we not only handily beat them, but we play extremely physical and bloody them.

I would prefer to NOT face the Flyers and I would prefer TO face the Pens....a Capitals Stanley Cup victory would be so much sweeter beating the Pens on the way...

I think we are not going to have to worrry about NYR, Montreal or Tampa, because I dont think we'll be playing any of them: if Philly can't beat an injured Pittsburgh team at home with first place on the line, I have a strong sense they are not going to be able to hold on to the #1 seed. Right now the Caps are playing with a lot more resolve and determination than the Flyers.

Possible but unlikely given Tampa Bay's games in hand over the competition for the #5 spot, although they've done little to inspire confidence lately.

if tampa fell to 7th, they would be the tomato can first rounder the caps have never gotten. so, it wont happen.

beat montreal this weekend and keep them in their tailspin. montreal falling like a rock would not be bad either.

Actually after last night's loss I see only about 2 wins there -- major tailspin coming up.

Rangers shutout the Bs and move into a tie with the Habs. IF we take 2pts tonight rangers would be 6th and habs 7th setting up a 1st round rematch.

With the Lightning making no push to catch us, we're 99% going to play one of these three teams. Who would you least want to play... most want to play... why?

I don't like NYR... I'd like to say BUF, but Miller is scary... MTL seems the best as we'd have the motivation of getting retribution for last year.

i'll take who they get unless they can get the lightning. each of the three teams mentioned can bite . miller is no worse than lundqvist. buffalo is just as hot as the rangers.
