I think some people are over rating our players.

Schenn is in for sure...Maybe Phaneuf (Hope Reimer)

Kulemin for Russia

Kessel for USA (And deffiantly not Komi which someone said )

Grabo for Belrus

So we seem to have confirmed at least one thing. Anderson is definitely American .

Belarus- Grabovski
Russia- Kulemin
Slovakia- Mikus?
Germany- Holzer, Mueller
Sweden- Gunnarsson, Gustavsson, Sjostrom?
Canada- Schenn, Phaneuf, Macarthur
USA- Kessel, Komisarek?
Finland- Rynnas?

Looks like we could have a pretty big group this year. It'll be a great experience for our younger players and will be good for their development.

Canada: Schenn, Macarthur, Reimer, Phaneuf (Probably won't go)
USA: Kessel
Sweden: Gustavsson (Outside of Henrik and Monster Sweden's goal tending is weak, so Gus will most likely go)
Russia: Kulemin
Belarus: Grabovski
Germany: Holzer, Mueller

Gunnar & Gustavsson for Sweden? Gustavsson hasn't had the best year but he's played really well for Sweden the last two seasons

I hope both Reimer and Gus make it.

I think Burke would rather see him in the Marlies playoff run then on team Canada IMO.

Why do many players turn down the chance to play? Comeptition level is much lower? Long season? Other priorities I guess?

Hidden injuries, bumps and bruises. Tired from the long drain of the regular season.

I imagine a lot of the veteran players would much rather let themselves heal up and rest.

I may be wrong on this one, but aren't you only allowed to use 3 recalls/assigns after the trade-deadline? We've already used one on Kadri coming up, and we now have two left and have to choose which two of: Kadri, Aulie, and Reimer will go back down for the playoffs. I'd guess it will be Kadri and Aulie since we already have Scrivens/Gus down there and don't really need to imporve goaltending.

Reimer isn't on the Marlies playoff roster if I'm not mistaken, and he isn't really needed for the Marlies anyway. Scrivens and Rynnas have proven more than capable to carry the load.

If Reimer gets a chance to play against some of the Worlds best, you send him there, ditto for anybody that could go to the World Championships.

Dwayne Roloson could have won the Gold.

I think Schenn, Reimer, Mac have chances to make it for Team Canada.

I think if Mac makes it, it might be the FIRST time a Leaf forward (who currently plays for the Leafs) is on a Mens Team Canada team in decades.

I think I made a thread on it last year around this time, and I don't believe there has been one in a WHILE (mostly because of the lack of good Canadian forwards, and the fact that before 2004 this team made the playoffs)

Possibly Gunnarsson for Sweden. I highly doubt they will need Sjöströms services and there are plenty of options equal to or better than Monster in the form he currently is in.

Why? Do Hockey Canada treat players horribly?

If we were relegated and had to remain off the elite group for several years, then you will realize the importance of the WCs. No longer will we treat it as a Mickey Mouse cup. If we can't remain in the elite group at the WCs, kiss goodbye to the Olympics.

I think it'll be:
Canada: Schenn, Reimer, (Mac)
Belarus: Grabooooooooooooooo
Russia: Kuleyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Sweden: Gunnarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
USA: Kessssssssssssssssssssss

I normally don't really cheer for Canada as much as other tourneys (WJC, Olympics) during the WC. Just love watching our guys play.

And why would that necessarilly be a bad thing? The Olympic hockey tournament is just an overglorified two weeks of meaningless exhibition games with made-up teams.

Schenn and MacArthur (assuming he's willing) should be locks.

Reimer should have a great chance at being the backup.

Lupul might have a chance, but it depends on who else they ask.

Phaneuf could go if he wanted, but he'll decline and rightfully so.
