did they take the senators guy to the box, or did he skate over there himself, knowing he'd just earned a double minor?

I wonder if they'll make up the non call there when Semin inevitably takes a stupid penalty in the next couple minutes, or if they get crazy and give him 5 and a gamer for tripping.

Not sure I've ever seen refs retract a penalty call; especially when someone is bleeding.

the only possible explanation is they are saying not one of the 4 on ice officials saw the high stick. that is the only one and that is inexcusable.

This broadcast quality is pathetic. How do the refs possibly reverse that high stick call? Worst collection of professionals in all of sports refereeing.

the refs called the penalty by reflex after seeing it. in the conference they were reminded of the league policy against giving the caps power plays until they lose some games. at that point they reversed the call

so in the last couple of weeks, we've had every "automatic" penalty not given, the double for the high stick, the puck over the glass, and the stick slashed in two, right?

Man, MJ90 has really grown up in the last couple months, his skating is ridiculous.

Well, the way Auger sees everything upside down, it makes sense. Hopefully Hendricks doesn't drop the gloves later, he'll wind up Bradleying all over the place.

its pretty obvious that a referee thought it was a penalty and sent him to the box. somebody must have been sure they saw it and that it was not a high stick and convinced the referee that called it to resind it.

I understand and agree it has to be either your scenario or mine. At least mine, while frustrating, is at least acceptable. If your scenario is the case, that official broke the cardinal rule. He called what he "thought" he saw and not what he did. This is why there has to be some sort of checks and balance in the officiating when it's drastically that bad.

A 10 minute delayed hi-sticking call.
