Very surprising stat especially with Hossa and Kane missing significant time with injuries. Just goes to show how poor the defense has been and how unlucky they've been in close games. No reason this team shouldn't be right there with Detroit.
Hawks have great depth again this year. We have 9 players, yes 9, that should finish with 15 or more goals. Forward depth is arguably a little better this year considering our D has not contributed nearly as much offensively.
The Hawks have also gotten better towards the end of the season with the addition of Campoli and Frolik. Campoli in particular has been brilliant. I really like the way the team is playing right now.
Agreed. I LOVED the Campoli move and I hope they can get him for a couple more years on a low money deal. If not they'll at least have him for next year as a RFA
Well Bickell has replaced Ladd's goals for most part and Sharp is having a much better year offensively then he did last year
We are still a 1 line team many nights with Hossa trying his best to carry the 2nd line. Last year we could role 4 lines consistantly
I wouldn't have said that when Bolland was healthy. That 2nd line of whoever-Bolland-Hossa was starting to look pretty good.
Right now we're pretty much a one line team, but when/if Bolland comes back, then we're a solid 2 line scoring team, with the potential to be three if Kruger can develope some chemistry and consistency with some linemates.

Yes Bolland was having good chemistry with Hossa but without him we are back to trying to ice 2 consistant lines
As for Kruger. I dont expect much just solid play in both ends is what he should be depended on
is it depth or perception of depth, Q has changed lines up a lot this year and a lot of guys played on the first two lines with kane sharp toews and hossa, you are bound to get some goals that way, not saying they dont have good depth overall but a lot of players can have good offensive numbers playing next two Toews and Kane or Sharp and Hossa when those were the lines
but also if Crawford was playing the whole year 95 points right now wouldnt be out of the question if not more
Take a look at one goal losses(R/OT). Blackhawks have 19. While not the worst, it is in the bottom third of the league. That explains our somewhat precarious position. Win a few of those and we would be sitting comfortably in a playoff position.

A stat that shows we don't win close games says more bad than good about this team. A good portion of those losses can be placed on Turco, but just about as many were just bad defensive lapses. I'm not worried. The additions of Leddy and Campoli have solidified our defense.

To be fair to the bum crew, Cullimore and Boynton, at lot of those close loses were games where we gave up a lead in the 3rd period... and most of the time it was Keith and Seabrook on the ice when those goals were scored against us to give up those late leads.
