It was helped by a soft call on Hartikainan.

Meh, like I said, I'll take it. Not that this has changed my opinion much though - I had the Flames counted out of the playoff race before this game started, and we looked uninspired all night (aside from Iginla) until the third period when Glencross scored. If that's what it takes to beat a borderline AHL team like the Oilers, then the Flames are going to get smoked in the first round regardless of they play.

Oh well, I'll take a win over any team regardless of how it comes, especially over Edmonton.

I believe the Flames turn their game around after the soft call. I'll cross my fingers for ya when ufas want to play for the team that has great chances to win the Stanley Cup.

Fair enough. I didn't see the team get a fire in their belly until Glencross made it 4-3, but maybe I just wasn't paying attention. The penalty call no doubt helped though.

Especially, when the refs wear a Flames jersey underneath their uniform.

Bold statement. I didn't see the refs call a penalty when Tanguay took O'Marra's stick to the face, but then Regehr went off for the same thing.

Iginla will probably stay but to be honest in the few years ( 2-5 ) he has left i don't know if he can win a cup in Calgary.

Maybe they want to save their bums for being question why the Flames didn't get a call for a penalty in this game.

What should the Flames have been called on in this game that they didn't?

The ref should've call for a penalty on a Flames player when he slash Hartikainen during the breakaway. Overall, the Flames played almost 0 infractions. It's just a soft call on Hartikainen really gives the Flames a momentum shift.

I don't think I've ever loved Staios as much as I did when he scored that goal. Not just to tie it, but against the Oilers, and his celebration brought a huge smile to my face. So awesome.

So then... what are you complaining about? If they didn't deserve to get any calls against them, how can the refs be so one-sided?

The huge fist pump, or the huge faceplant immediately before it?

Refs should've call at least one occurrences for each team during the regulation. When I say almost that means at least one occurrences that the ref should've called on.

Both, but the fist pump was what I was referring to.

Hey, let them have their fun; their hockey season ended a long, long, long time ago. What else are they supposed to do here?

He should never have been acquired...but that made it a lot better.

I'm so glad that game ended the way it did. I can take not making the playoffs after that run, but I could not take a loss to the Oilers while the faintest hope still lingers.

Cleaned up the mess. Please stay on topic which is last night's game and to the Oilers' fans: you are welcome as long as you do not troll.

Last night was a great example of what Kipper turns into when being overplayed.

This win was even sweeter after finding out that the Oilers were talking a bunch of trash and taunting the Flames about the season being over, when they were up 4-1. Right before choking that game away. Karma is pretty awesome sometimes.

I have a bet with an Oiler fan who said the Oilers would just miss the playoffs and finish in 9th or 10th and said that the Flames would be behind them in the standings. I bet him the Flames would finish 7th-10th and that the Oilers would finish last. haha.
