This time around he actually looks ready, he always had the talent but it's always been the same deal with lack of effort and non consistent play. It looks like he hit the gym and put on some extra muscle, and is doing the right stuff out on the ice on a nightly basis. Hopefully a sign that he has matured mentally as well.

Do you have any idea how big he is? Last thing I found said he is 6'2 and like 185 pounds, not very big but he must be bigger then that by now
Dick have all the talent in the world, well not really but he is very talented. The only thing really putting limits on him is him self. He have matured a lot this season but I guess he will always be a bit crazy. He said he could even play in AHL next season if he had a chance to play in the NHL later on. But dont count on it.
He seems to be pretty self-confident, not afraid to try something unordinary offensilvely. He should give AHL/NHL another season. If he fails during next season he will easily get a contract in Europe.
He tends to get too involved in stuff between the whistles, and takes too many unnessesary penalties. Other than that, he's pretty awesome when he's on his game.

But arent games in the SEL officiated a little more strictly then the NHL. What gets called over there might not in North America, like the after whistle stuff.

Yeah, that is probably true. NHL is way more strict on hooking and holding, though.

The reason I was asking if he is physical is because apparently he has the offensive skill that he might make the jump straight to detroit next season (rumour is hes been offered a one way contract?).
If he makes Detroit I'm sure he will start in the bottom 6, and having grit is important to be a good checker before he becomes a scorer.
So do you think he's a "problem child" like they said a few years ago?
He doesn't seem to have as many fans as I hoped.
I would love it if he stayed and played for FBK one more season. He is a winner. He can change a game on his own. With out knowing him I would guess he is not the smartest guy but he is passionate player and gives his best. With the right surrounding he will blossom, like he have done with FBK (very strict organization) and I am sure the case would be the same with DRW.

I'd say they are officated much more strictly in the NHL and players are much more aware of what rules are in play. SEL refs don't give a crap about third man coming in to take opportunities of guys already scrapping.
About Dick, he doesn't strike me as a Detroit type of player. He still have ways to go managing his ego. Talent wise I agree with other posters. Somewhat similiar to Kovalev maybe in that sense, or ex-NHLer Andreas Salomonsson for a homer comparison.

This is true. Although, Axelsson wouldn't be the first sort of "selfish" player turned team guy playing for the Red Wings.

I really think it's unfair to call Axelsson selfish. That was true maybe a year ago but today he's much more of a team player. A year ago he would have wasted a good scoring chance by not passing the puck for some flashy dangles, but not anymore. His work ethics has improved as well. He's by no means a work horse but he's no slouch either.

I have a very good source that says that Axelsson has gotten a contract from the Red Wings and he is almost certain to accept cause he's gotten his wish. It's a one way contract and the money is good.

He has matured alot this season. But on the ice hes kind of a loose kanon. If you **** with him hes gonna wanna retaliate.
Hes got alot of skill,Amazing deakes,great backhand.
I could see him around 45-60 points.
