No, according to Av fans JB is over rated and only worth a 2nd round pick at best and more likely a 3rd. Poor silly Av fans.

Yeah well don't some poor silly Kings "fans" around here think Quick is only an ECHL back-up goalie at best too ? at least I thought I read something like that around here ... I'm just saying

No, I think that Quick would definitely be the starter on an ECHL team.

How "Quickly" we king fans forget the days of Rollie the goalie, Blue line, the goose, the czeck siv, white lines Fuhr"y" and on and on and on.

I mean Quick sits in the top 7 in most every category and would gain a high return in a deal but to some of us he is little more than a spongy backstop.

It is never enough.

Does he let in a softie now and then? Yes. Do we break down in front of him most every game at least once where he saves our backsides? Yes.

Either way I am happy to have him.

very true. my only issue with the on going JQ v JB debate is that JB gets more starts to show what he's got. it's difficult to gauge what he will become on the limited snapshot we have to date. personally i don't prefer either of them, i just want to insure LA ends up with the better of the two. one of them will be gone down the road that's a fact.

once that happens then it's likely to start over again with Jones, Zatkoff, etc as they come on line behind the winning Jonathan. for the first time LA will have an on going question in net because they've got depth....instead of a FA retread or trade that can't stop anything

I agree and believe that we have had this situation as planned for some time now.

When you add in Berube to the mix we have at least two more viable high quality potential starters in our system. I still see us keeping JB and moving Quick when the time comes but not in a hurry. JB showed us that he has the skill to compete at this level and I believe that by the end of next year (though before this season I thought he would have sown it up before its end) that JB will have taken over the number one spot.

At the very least the battle will be even more heated and how lucky we are to have such a horse race in such a critical position.

Berube has a ton of potential. Glad the Kings traded up for him in the draft. He will be a good one down the road. Kings certainly have a logjam at goaltender position.

Toffoli and Loktionov will be Top 15 by next season.

Vey will also be in the Top 50.

How about Derek Forbort? I think he will make the jump next year also.

I think if not for injuries they would have made a bigger jump than they did but those injuries have haunted them.

They'll be poorer & sillier on draft day, when we steal their top-3 pick and Stastny for Bernier, JJ, and some crap. The Erik Johnson/Chris Stewart trade illustrates that Colorado's GM can be duped.

Poor silly any team's fans that think Lombardi is trading Quick or Bernier until a #1 goaltender emerges and one of the other goalies in the organization develops enough to be considered a solid backup.

These type of rankings have a tendency to be based upon flash and pts. College hockey isn't much of a place for a d-man to get hype. Doesn't mean he isn't going to be a top prospect.

Forbort will take some time. Kings have a pretty damn good developmental system now.
