He needs to learn how to dump and chase. He never hits the blue line with enough speed for his dangles to work when he tries them. When he does have that speed he just tries to shoot is because he knows he can't dangle at that speed.

Dump the damn puck Richie.

Or if your implying Laviolette benched him, I extremely doubt that.

Leino was just on WIP. Said it was "a strong team effort."

Damn this shooting for home ice advantage lark!!!

Good win. Always nice seeing the Pens lose (unless they're tanking). Certainly not Kimmo's best game but he has been a beast this season and is probably tired.

He'll get the rest now. Imagine him & Prongs both refreshed and ready to go in the playoffs. It's a nice image.

Great win. Just dominated as the game moved on. A lot of guys had good games. Bob still letting in some softies though. Otherwise, he made up for it in the 3rd period. Great game.

Also, the second goal was more a result of Richards trying to do everything on his own.
The way I saw it Kimmo was clearly at fault for at least 3 2 on 1s, including both of the goals. Richards losing the puck there had almost nothing to do with the goal, aside from giving possession back to Pittsburgh. There was time for everyone to get back between the turnover and Pens' pass up ice. If Kimmo doesnt make that odd play on the defender and get beat, we wouldnt be talking about that turnover.

Either way we really need Kimmo, cause regardless of his poor game, he's a big part of our defense.

Capital go to the shootout, so even if they win, the Flyers will just need 8 points and 3 ROW to clinch.

Toskala from the entire length of the rink was abominable. Cloutier letting Lidstrom score from half was abominable.

Bob let in a weakish one. An NHL tender should usually get that shot from Kennedy.

As for the shot from Kovalev on a 2-1....how the **** was that abominable man? You're smarter than this, I know it. I've read your posts.

Carolina wins the shootout.

Flyers magic number is 6 for division, 8 or 7 with 3 ROW for conference.

Everybody's at fault. Saying giving the puck away had almost nothing to do with it is like saying not wearing a condom almost had nothing to do with why the girl got pregnant.

Good news on Timonen.

Edit: Seems like Timonen could play the next game. Nothing confirmed.

Timonen 'banged up' ... should be available next game ... held out for precautionary reasons.

Tim P. has a note now on his Twitter:

Holmgren expects timonen to play next gm. Source tells me "he is banged up but no specific injury." holmgren said he was held out in 3rd

Having been one, I'm generally sympathetic towards the goalie. But they're two he needs to have. The d broke down...but I played on teams with bad d almost all every year. Given the implications of the game tonight, I think they needed to be stopped. I also don't generally buy into that kind of thing, but I think tonight was huge.

He stepped up otherwise though, and that's important. What happened tonight was just what happens to young goalies.

Ill take it! I think Betts has been the most consistant Flyer in regards to forechecking and backchecking. Hopefully this was the game to get us goin.

I disagree partially...sure, Richards played a role in the goal against, but Richards' turnover didn't directly lead to the scoring chance. Turnovers in the offensive zone happen literally every time a team enters the offensive zone and doesn't score. Even the breakout pass wasn't that threatening until Timonen made a boneheaded play. It happens. But to say that Kimmo wasn't at fault, and Richards was...is a bit silly IMO.

My hunch was correct... per Homer Kimmo held out of third for precautionary reasons,,, could have played third if needed... expected to play Thursday vs Thrashers (per CSN Postgame)

Also they confirmed my thinking that Kimmo's play this game MAY have been due to his lower body injury... possibly groin (per Morganti)

EDIT: Of course my hunch was largely from my hopes.

I think everyone involved on that play is at fault. All I'm saying is Richards doesn't take less blame because his turnover seemingly had less impact.
