Game still on for now.

And once again. No go for Mittens.

I would be lying if I didn't say I was disappointed.

Can't win a shootout all year but in when winning hurts us we can pull one out like the best of them.

Winning feels like a loss now. We could have gone from #11 to #8 tonight.

No, winning feels like winning because you did something better than someone else.

No winning sure does not feel like winning right now....

and it certainly won't feel like winning two months from now when Columbus and St. Louis grace the stage at the X before us.

A good chance to really move up in the draft and we blow it... classic Wild hockey.

No that's still winning to me since picking early in the draft is a sign of losing and I don't cheer for a team just so they can get a good draft pick. If I did, I certainly wouldn't be cheering for the Wild given the number of high picks they've blown.

This is a good win, I'm glad to see us finally pick up a win. That win looked like how we were winning games earlier on in the season. I won't ever get mad about a win. Whether we draft #8 or #11, we still have to pick the right player.

Winning, when guaranteed to finished lower than 8th in any given year, is losing in my eyes. It is then especially losing when, as mentioned before, we could have gone from #11-->#8.

Last year two spots would have netted us All-Star Jeff Skinner. I'd rather sit through a winless rest of the season and snag a Jeff Skinner than win a few and snag a Granlund.

Yeah, definitely could have used that SO win a month ago.

Now, it's not so great.

We need to pick #8 to have a chance to grab one of the top-5 forwards (RNH, Landeskog, Couturier, Strome, and Huberdeau). And that is not even a sure thing. For that to happen, Islanders and Devils would have to draft Dmen (in addition to Larsson going in the top-3).

I see a drop off after those five guys.

And when that pick turns out to be Benoit Pouliot or James Sheppard then what are you going to do?

There's just no winning, no matter what the Wild do. Plain and simple.

I was going to go with pawn it off on the next guy but it's all the same. You need good drafting and development regardless of draft position; all the #1 picks in the world mean nothing if they keep busting.

Ugh, the moment I genuinely decide I just want them to lose outright, they go and pull this crap. At least it doesn't count for the ROW tiebreaker.
