Bourque was a waste of a roster spot tonight. Disappointed that he was a no show in the biggest game of the season. He looked lazy and uninspired out there.

Ducks fan here. It didn't seem like the flames played with any sense of urgency. I was expecting them to throw pucks into creases and crashing the net in the third. This was do or die game and they seem to just give up on the end.

This loss made it official, this was ground hog day for the beginning of golf season for the Flames.

This really does suck.

or did I

The start of the season killed their chances... not the terrible officiating of tonights game. We can blame that on Sutter though because a GM has so much control over player perfomance.

Very frustrating game, The refs did not allow either team anything in such an important game which is really sad to see.

The game was won on specialty teams, which definitely plays in favor of the ducks.

****** ending to a good run boys.

I was at the game.

ABSOLUTELY terrible refereeing. It was.

But we lost to a better team. This team, has some work to do. Bouwmeester has to go. Stajan you can GTFO too. Take your loser attitude elsewhere. We have business to attend to.

Funny, I thought those two were in the handful of good flames tonight.

They played very well IMO, In what was the biggest game of the year.

Bourque, Kipper, Tanguay, Jokinen, Glencross and Backlund needed to be better.

Also Jackman has completely gotten away from his game in the last 20 games or so, and has really been a non factor.

CORY PERRY = Punk. Stay on your feet for god sakes! spent half the game on the ice.

I thought Backlund was pretty solid honestly, agree with other assessments though. Bourque had an AWFUL game. To me this game for Stajan doesn't make up for the 80% of the time he's invisible. Bouwmeester needs to grow a heart, but he did have a decent game.

Video review should have been a goal. However if Stajan could just jam the puck into the net, then it wouldn't have to go to review. He needs to get lessons from Moss on how to bury the puck when it's in the blue ice.

Oilers fan here but I'm going to give the Flames a bit of an excuse. They're not lacking the effort here guys, they're out of gas. Now, it's there own fault for starting out so horribly, but I believe they're giving everything they can in the last 5 games they just got nothing left. I applaud there effort, but I guess if I'm a frustrated Flames fan right now I'm pretty livid with the season in general.

Bork needs to ensure that he puts in some effort every night. Especially big games like these. I thought Iginla played well, as did Backlund. Jbo, well... not so much. He was solid, but nothing spectacular.

****...Unless management can surrond iggy with some realy players then I want him traded. For his own sake. I'd love to strangle Bourque's neck, what a way to go out.

You know this game was doomed when Matt Stajan was playing better then most of your roster.

He's been to the playoffs once.

Quote:
Despite struggling to generate offence, Bouwmeester participated in the AHL All-Star game, and was loaned to the Chicago Wolves when it became evident the Rampage would not qualify for the playoffs.[13] Bouwmeester and the Wolves reached the Calder Cup Finals,[14] though they lost to the Philadelphia Phantoms.

So he's never actually earned his playoff games. He was loaned to a team that was already making the playoffs.

How was that not a goal? The NHL really needs to review their system.

to play devil's advocate on the nongoal, one must remember, when the puck is off the ice, with every camera being at an angle (even the overhead cam is still slightly angled), when it is close you can not be 100% positive the puck is over the line. it appears over, but not positively. it was the right call.

I agree with the TSN panel that there should be a common sense rule. Everyone and there dog knew that was a goal, but because the on-ice call was not as such there had to be conclusive evidence to over turn it. The Flames got totally screwed on that call. It may of been the right call according to league rules but it is BS and that rule should be changed.
