Who do you think would be? I don't want to play Chicago. Nashville?
I'd rather play Nashville, yeah. I don't think they're going to lure anyone into a shootout type game. Playing a defensive team with less up front than us and less on the back end is right what this Kings team needs.
I hate the ducks like any normal purple blooded kings fan but for the sake of southern California hockey I would love to see a ducks/kings playoff round.
Yes, it would be gigantic for SoCal hockey fans. They might even talk about it on the news!
I had this same though when the Ducks won last night. I also thought about the implications of the last two games regardless if they meet up. They are going to be the two biggest games between these franchises. That is pretty cool.
The thought of losing to the Ducks in the playoffs makes me nachos (yeah, nachos). It will absolutely bring the rivalry to life regardless how it turns out.

Yeah, Staples nachos = nauseous.
I just want the kings playoff spot (whatever place it is) locked up before we have to play those last two games. As well as the waterfowl are playing, and as fragile as our team may be right now, I dont want to have suffer such an ignominious loss of everything accomplished this season to them in our final two games. I cant imagine an end to the season more difficult to swallow (well, I could, but it would involve another curved stick, and a flopping goalie losing three SCF games in OT in a row.)
Didn't like it the first time around and dont want to see it again!

I owe you some beers (plural). I'll be at the last game of the season and the game next Wednesday. Let me know if you'll be there.
Just imagine if the Kings beat the Ducks in the playoffs without Williams and Kopitar.
I would love to see a playoff round against the Ducks. It would be huge for So Cal hockey and the national media would actually pay attention to playoff series in California.
I don't either but given our top forwards are missing, it is quite possible. I'll still take our defense and goaltending over their offense.
Definitely. I would prefer a team with a less potent offense, since our system is built to grind out close games, but you're right their defense and goaltending situation leaves much to be desired, so bring em on.

That would be insane, and very promising for our future.
Kings chances are great if they can get home ice and Phoenix. This was there year to beat the Ducks before Kopitar went down as their forwards after RPG and Selanne are bad IMO I expect the Ducks to have a good playoff team next season when Ruutu and Marchant are replaced with guys who don't absolutely suck. Adding Mike Fisher makes NAsvhille a much better playoff team with another top line thats another team the Kings would have had the matchup edge before the injuries but no longer do. Emery and Rinne are better than Bryzgalov right now and more likely to win a series.
Would not want to see either of those two teams first round. If the Kings get out of the first they could get home ice and if they dont I love them as dogs against SJ, Detroit, or Vancouver NOONE will give LA a chance in that series. Anaheim and Nashville are very likely WCF opponents for the Kings if they can get there. The Kings are still superior to Phoenix in every way. No NHL team gets up for Phoenix in an empty arena or at home on a Saturday still hung over from the night before thats the only reason they are in fourth. Yandle would be a huge minus if he was in a big market think Dennis Wideman. The Kings were better than Nashville and Anaheim until the top two scorers went down but I give them the matchup edge now.
