I just really hope we don't trade our Nashville pick to move up. Let's say we get fifth and Panthers get 4th. Even though many say Panthers are interested in Couturier, I highly doubt they'll make this obvious. If it came down to Couturier and Lando and they knew we were favouring Lando, I see Tallon being open to talks with BM about moving up to get Lando. Anything can happen of course.
I say sit back and enjoy the right. At this point any 1-5 picked prospect would be exciting.
People around here always speak highly of Murray's drafting abilities regardless of our draft position, so if he feels it's in our best interest to trade any of our picks to select the player he wants then I'm good with it.
The Avs are already unreachable in my opinion so it doesn't even bother me if they keep losing. At this point it's all about the Panthers and Islanders.

Unfortunately, I don't think the Panthers will win another game this season. With us holding the tiebreaker against the Islanders, we can only hope we don't win either.
The Preds pick is currently 20th overall. Now I beleive that only if the Preds make it to the semi-finals does their pick begin to become lower. If someone is able to clarify that, that would be superb.

I thought this is how it worked..
Nashville wins 1st round - We get a 3rd Rounder.
Nashville wins 2nd round - We get a 2nd Rounder.

I believe the draft order of playoff teams goes by final standings at the end of the regular season, but the teams that make it to the final four get bumped up. So if the Preds make it to the semi-finals and lose, the pick goes to either the 27th or 28th depending on where the losers of the eastern conference semi-finals finished in the standings.

There be hope
If Ottawa can manage to lose it's last three games in regulation all Florida needs to do is get into one overtime game for us to secure the 3rd spot. Maybe we can convince DeBoer to crack the whip & we'll give him an interview to coach Ottawa next yr.

Whichever team wins the Stanley Cup is awarded the 30th and last pick, while the runner-up is given the 29th pick. The teams eliminated in the conference finals are awarded the 28th and 27th picks, with the 28th pick going to the team with the better regular season record. Remaining division winners, then other eliminated teams are ranked next, filling in the 26th through 15th picks. In both cases, better records result in later picks.
