Darryl Boyce or Tim Brent

Simple question, of the two who do you think we should keep?? Brent can be a hero at times in the PK but aside from that disappear while boyce is a guy who appears every time.

Or do you think we should drop one of the players in the bottom six to keep both, say like sjoey? Another player that maybe expendable is joey crabb?

I would keep Brent out of the two personally.

I'd keep both and dump Crabb to make room for Armstrong, although having him for a depth player for the Marlies is never a bad option.

If I absolutely had to get rid of one I'd keep Brent as the 4th line center.

I'd love to keep both but I have to go with Tim Brent here. What he offers to the Leafs PK saves and steals so you can say games. Brent is a consistent player on our PK no matter how inconsistent his even-strength game is.

Brent as the 4C and Boyce as the 13th forward

But yeah, Brent. Great shot blockeR on the PK.

Good question,
I think Brent 4th line center,
Bozak would be the 3rd line center,
Boyce 13th Forward
Crab Minors.

If you can't keep both I think you keep Brent because of faceoffs and pk.

But, I think keeping both is the best option.

The Leafs are actually in a position right now where they're too bottom heavy. More 3rd and 4th liners that they need. A lot of the decisions depend on whether Orr returns though... or whether Hanson can win a spot next year... or whether Kadri ends up getting slotted in a 3rd line role at the beginning of next season.

Too many questions and scenarios. It looks like we'll have a lot of players vying for only 6-7 spots.

Brent is our best penalty killer IMO (not Bozak); he's a great 4th line player. Boyce bringa lot of energy and gives 100% every game and screens the goalie.

Tough choice, I would want to keep both. They both do their job well.

How are we too bottom heavy? Right now with Armstrong out our bottom 6 look pretty bad, we have Daryl Boyce and Joey Crabb on our third line. Replacing them with Bozak/Kadri next season would be a significant upgrade. I wouldn't be opposed to keeping Crabb on the 4th line right wing spot. A line of Brown-Brent-Crabb brings an effective style of speed, grit and defensive awareness.

Keep both.

Both are cheap and decent contributors for their price.

They provide solid depth.

It's a tough one, I'd like to keep both and lose Crabb.

Boyce is more consistent game to game, but when Brent shows up it's for an epic penalty kill.

Forget Orr. We don't need him take up a roster spot.

Boyce is a better energy player, Brent is smarter and better PK.

Id take Brent because Boyce isnt as good on the draw and PK, two areas which we need all we can get. Also, Ive seen Boyce take some pretty dumb penalties

Brent, easily.

Although Boyce and Kadri seem to have a decent chemistry on the ice.

Tim Brent for sure. Keep Boyce as 13th forward, dump Crabb in the minors.

Bottom 6

FA/Marlie - Bozak - Armstrong
Brown - Brent - Boyce.

Im sick of enforcers. I want guys who can play. That is a legit bottom 6 group

see the question is what happens with the other players in the marlies like caputi/hanson/possibly mueller? I think we aren't going to sign sjoestrom anymore really.

I think this also might show we might not be going for that third-line player?

I don't care how... But I'd like to keep Crabb, Boyce, and Brent. Their all character guys who have a high compete level which is what I want in my bottom 6 even if they were considered "career ahlers" before this year.

This is a tough call for sure but one thing I am certain of is that I would rather keep Brent and Boyce over Crabb and Sjostrom. IMO Crabb and Sjostrom won't be with the team next year.

To me both belong on the 4th line. Problem is I see the 4th line as a group that hits everything that moves and creates energy but that is not a liability. To me Brent does not fit that role so much as Boyce. If Orr is back, he'd be my 13th forward, only used when necessary. Brown would be on my 4th. Question becomes do you want a big banging body (like a Hanson) on the 4th or do you accept Brent's lack of bang in favour of overall play.

Brown-Brent/Hanson-Boyce

Or do you even move Bozak to the 4th?
