New as of 4/1 (Post #28) No Joke, These are the Lines...

Brad Richardson is the most underrated hockey player on this team, or at least one of them, and he can play on any line and be effective. I don't believe he gets nearly the recognition he deserves. Of course he isn't a first line center, but with Kopitar out who else do you go with? Richardson has earned it. I know everybody loves Lewis, but he's doing fine right where he is at.

Penner-Richardson-Brown
Smyth-Stoll-Moller
Ponikarovsky-Handzus-Simmonds
Clifford-Lewis-Call Up/Westy (ew)

Worth a try right?
I like Richardson's speed on that line. And he backchecks as hard as Kopi does too.. He just can't score.

Here's mine:
Penner-Stoll-Moller
Smyth-Lewis-Brown
Ponikarovsky-Handzus-Simmonds
Clifford-Richardson-Someone

It seems more realistic to me..

I doubt there will be set lines. It will very much be a case of mix and matching liens constantly throughout games to fill needs. The only combo i see happening next game is Smyth-Lewis. Literally every other combo is a possibility

Against Edmonton:

Penner-Handzus-Moller
Smyth-Stoll-Brown
Poni-Lewis-Simmonds
Clifford-Richardson-Westgarth

Lewis and Stoll can swap as needed. Murray likes to use the top line against top line. Handzus has the size to match up against the top lines. Penner and Moller will need to step up big time.

the problem with Zus on the top line is EDM's speed will expose Zus. they aren't setting speed records but they will expose Zus' lack of lateral footwork and top end speed. my guess is Murray will mix and match through the 1st to get what he feels are his best combos to match EDM

Yup. Terry Murray is going to be like a 3 card monte dealer behind the bench putting together line combinations.

My first line today would be Moller at LW, Penner at C and Brown or Simmonds at RW.

Penner is a more than competent center and I think might be more effective there than on the wing.

I think this whole discussion is folly. If there ever was a time that TM would juggle the lines, it is now.

I figured that Cliche might be called up to play instead of Westgarth on the fourth line. But I noticed he didn't play on Friday or Saturday for Manchester. Anyone know his status? Was he a healthy scratch?

That's fine with me. Whatever top 9 winger is playing the best gets double shifted.

Those were just the lines for the 3rd period. We will know more tomorrow at practice. No practice today (Sunday).

With Kopi & Willie both out of the lineup, I don't see a true 1st line. In fact, I see 2 second lines and 2 third lines:

Penner/Stoll/Brown
Richie/Moller/Kozun
Smyth/Zeus/Poni
Clifford/Lewis/Simmonds

I'm sure this was mentioned already..it's more than likely Terry Murray will be shuffling the deck like a mad man in these next few games.

Considering how well Brown and Handzus played together, it wouldn't shock me to see that again at some point, maybe with Penner on LW.

I remember Moller(Williams Jr.) and Smytty hooking up for a goal or two back in December.

Penner and Brown should be together. That's a no-brainer especially based on the past couple of games...

Edmonton is as good a game to experiment with the lines as any. Were we to start the lines Hammond mentioned we used in the 3rd against Colorado, and dressed Harrold, I'd be alright with that.

Utilize Westgarth as a pp specialist. Get him his ice time while lessening the chances of goals against

Clifford-Richardson-Westgarth

just posted by Hammond. Monday practice lines. the Stoll/Lewis situation is surprising to me. although i am in favor of having Lewis' speed up top to compensate for old man Smithers.

Its not that suprising, Stoll has centred Poni-Simmonds for a couple of games now, and Lewis moved up to that spot in the 3rd period last game and immediately produced, so it makes sense for that to stay as a line

Wow, haven't seen you around in a while, nice to have you back.

I'm fine with the lines Hammond posted. Fact of the matter is that the top three lines are probably going to get equal ice time. I think Zeus will be able to produce given these linemates. I really hope so anyway.
