Couple of years ago I saw Caps play Buffalo and I noticed unusually high amount of Sabres fans here in DC. Can somebody explain to me why there are so many Buffalo fans at the VC… its not like Buffalo is close geographically or a huge rivalry.

because cities with no jobs (i.e. pittsburgh/buffalo) inhabitants tend to flock to the dc region.

Last game they had Myers, Sekera, Montador, Butler, Weber and Gragani.

But with Lindy you'll never know.

If it's the game I'm thinking of, a win clinched the President's trophy for them on the final game of the season. I think a lot of people bussed down for that one.

A lot of Buffalo fans live in Virginia. And I know several companies were planning bus trips to tonights game too

This. You get a lot of rust-belt refugees from Buffalo, Detroit and Pittsburgh around here.

Sabres fans also travel about as well as any team in the league, expect perhaps Detroit. The NHL is a much bigger deal in Buffalo than in any other American city.

On a side note, the tickets for this game are insanely expensive.

Unlikely that Shame is in the lineup. He was -3 in only about 8 minutes against Toronto and went up to the pressbox. His fill-in didn't look bad at all.

Rick Nash incident, right? Yup, McCreary picked up the assist.

Not jus that. A misconduct or two from different games as well. Mccreary hates shamo.

the funny part of the mccreary-shamo incident was that the CAPS won the game anyway and you could see the relief in mccrearys eyes. That would not have been funny had that been the gwg.

Had that been the gwg we would have missed the playoffs (all else equal that is). Shamo said he might have hit him had the caps not tied it.

Morrisonn is/has been recently a healthy scratch for the Sabres?

Ovechkin - Johansson - Knuble
Sturm - Backstrom - Semin
Laich - Arnott - Fehr
Chimera - Gordon - Bradley

Not sure I like separating Arnott & Semin but now is the time to experiment.

I agree but I do like those lines. That's some real solid depth 1 through 3. Very curious to see how Backs and Semin play together.

BB: Backy. come here.
NB: what's up coach?
BB: I'm gonna put you on the 2nd with Semin. I need you to get his scoring going. Don't read into mojo being on the 1st.
NB: Ok coach.
