The Bruins, meanwhile, secured their second Northeast Division title in three seasons with Saturday's victory over visiting Atlanta. As a result of the division title, Boston, which is trailing Washington and Philadelphia by four points for the East lead, is guaranteed no worse than the third seed in the conference playoffs.
New York has taken two of three from the Bruins this season and the Rangers dealt their Original Six rivals a 1-0 setback when the clubs met in Boston on March 26. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 26 shots to post the shutout in that recent encounter.
The Rangers have won five of seven and six of nine overall in this series and Boston has dropped nine of its last 11 tests in the Big Apple.
Perhaps Boston takes the night off considering they wrapped up the 3rd seed and have basically no chance at moving up beyond that?
Edit: Crap...Boston has 4 games remaining. They could very well still move up and take the #1 or #2 overall seed.
holy crap! love this time of year. every games is soo big.
Here's to a hard, well played game.
....I like the this line-up. If you had given me this list of players at the beginning of the season, my lines it would look nothing like the ones playing tonight. lol
Yeah, Carolina isn't winning out. They'll drop at least 1 of their last 3. Hopefully it's the first one vs. Detroit so it's not nearly as much of a nail biter for us down the stretch. But it all starts with a point or two tonight vs. Boston.
Nah, theyve been good but they have gotten the bounces. Not last night. I think that was it for them but i can only hope at this point really.
Rangers have to take care of business tonight, and distance themselves. Its not going to be easy for Carolina knowing they are 4 points back with 3 games to play.
Yeah, I just don't see Car winning out. They have Detroit Wednesday than that back to back over the weekend. So 3 in 4 nights with some travel involved against 2 teams in playoff spots as well a team in their division who may want to play spoiler. I could see them going 2-1 but not 3-0.
Take care of our own business and we won't have to worry about it. A point at the very least tonight would be huge.

They were lucky to get the goal they got yesterday. Who cares how Buffalo scored in OT to win it when they scored the only non-luck based goal. They should be happy they got the point they did and didn't basically get eliminated from the playoffs yesterday.
BTW, the Rangers v Bruins games where the scores have been 1-0 have been in Boston. Looking at more scoring tonight. Rangers win 3-2 in Regulation
