You should pick different players as the background pic and do "defined by" with a characteristic of that player....heart...determination....skill.... Grit... Etc.

Exactly, the Bruins fans are so focussed on us that they aren't thinking about the rest of the league.

The Stanley Cup playoffs isn't about one opponent unless you lose in the first round, we shouldn't be strictly about the Bruins.

The perfect one in my opinion is the following caption with different pictures:

"You aren't born with respect"
??????????
"Respect is earned"

Add me to the 'non-trolling' party...I think we should go with a serious theme that revolves around strength through adversity/playing through injuries/team solidarity over individual glory.

Maybe something with the tag-line

Going gets tough
PLAYER IMAGE
Tough get going

Would reinforce the idea that this is a 'tough' team despite not being particularly 'rough' or 'big' or 'mean' even.

Yeah I'd like something of that kind.

Kind of a "what doesn't kiil us makes us stonger" mentality

But I also like Worst fans in sports... as in

We say: Triple boucle PK. (or PK on the PP)

I disagree with any avatars that involve other teams. Who are we? Bruins fans?

They have nothing to talk about when it comes to their team, so they talk about ours. It's typical Boston Bruins mentality. Their Stanley Cup would be beating us in the playoffs.

Or... following Price's suggestion to chill out at the beginning of the season, we could have a Big Lebowski theme.

The Dude abides...
Nobody f#(k$ with the Jesus...

etc.

Why can't we just ignore the Bruins, the fact their avatar is inspired by us shows that they think about us too much. If we have an avatar about them, it'll show we care too much about them and it shows that their avatars bothered us. It would be a little pathetic if we did the same thing, we have too much material from our own team to do something on the Bruins.

I like the riot idea actually, and the blame subban one of course. I like the funnier ideas, shows a sense of humor that our fanbase really does have a lot of. Either of those two work for me, and I agree we should put it to a vote as Habs23 mentioned.

why not follow the "blamesubban" but make it for everyone on the team type deal?

"hatty hats away from home - blamesubban"
"playoff beard before clinching - blamemara"
"slow as molasses - blamegill"

you get the idea.

I agree.

We went with the trolling theme all season long (even last season). It's time to add some seriousness and show what this team is really about. Add some qualities, as stated above, such as "Heart" and so on.

I think we need to start taking ourselves seriously before the rest of the league does.

All of this trolling pseudo/passive-aggressive stuff plays right into the hands of our critics

I like this idea. Something like : "They bend but don't break" could work too, or something about resiliency, or whatever. That's pretty much our team trademark since last year playoff.

I am with you. Also I think it's good to have a healthy sense of pride without arrogance. Something like a strong mission statement. The qualities we admire. Our goal as a team. That puts us beyond competition. In victory, we come across as a noble winner. In defeat, we also look good. Trolling makes the defeat worse. And sets you up for crow eating.

Even if we did something with a sense of humor, I would like to have a hint of honor in it. In that case, we could use the size issue. Hobbits maybe? Kinda of a David vs Goliath. Small with heart vs arrogant strength. Plus we do have that Aragorn connection.

Twist on Mad Men: Habs Men

Classiest organization ever. All players in suits and tuxs. Something witty.

Hockey did essentially start with Montreal, yeah?

If youre looking to make an impact, while still suggesting you are above the other teams, you could do "with out us (canadiens logo)"...."there would be no you (other teams logos)"

Something like this but better:

Never claimed to be some PS pro and used MSPaint. I figured it'd be worth a good laugh anyways.

I think it would come off as Habs fan being a little pompous or arrogant to other fans. Not a bad idea though.

Its true though, and play off teams, especially ones with the history montreal has, have every right to be a bit pompous.

Please, the Bs fans avatars aren't arrogent?

More of a reminder of the roots, the heritage, the history.

I was thinking if you want to make it a counter bruins one (I don't but I won't mind either) you could do something like this:

"Cheap shots" Picture of McLaren on Zednik
"Still won't get you" Picture of Bruin player hoisting the cup from 30+ years ago.
"Another Cup" Picture of Max Pacioretty smiling with a troll face.

Bruins, a cheap shotting history, still no cup.

Haha very true. I guess every fanbase turns up the arrogance in their avatars once the playoffs come around, i.e; Vancouver - Deal with it.

I think there are plenty of other ways to remind everyone about the Habs history. Although, it seems like everyone here is content on either a humorous theme or one that answers the Bruins theme.
