CAPGEEK.COM CAP CALCULATOR

FORWARDS
Chris Kunitz ($3.725m) / Sidney Crosby ($8.700m) / Tyler Kennedy ($1.200m)
James Neal ($2.875m) / Evgeni Malkin ($8.700m) / Ville Leino ($3.000m)
Matt Cooke ($1.800m) / Jordan Staal ($4.000m) / Mark Letestu ($0.625m)
Michael Rupp ($0.650m) / Dustin Jeffrey ($0.625m) / Craig Adams ($0.550m)
13th Forward ($0.550m)
*disclaimer* this isnt a roster I am advocating, just showing thats max pay available given a max cap rise.
I realize this was just done for fun and quickly, but I would bet Kennedy goes over (possibly way over) $1.2 million per year.

His stats, age and role is very similar to Clarke MacArthur, who was awarded $2.4 million. In fact, Kennedy's probably more impressive since he's been a reasonable solid playoff performer and did not need a change of scenery either.

I can't believe the NHL continually lets this ******* off the hook.

How many of you think Leino will run back to Detroit?

I'm giving it a yes.

FWIW, Atlanta had no interest in re-signing him and they made no attempt to counter any of the points brought up by his side through arbitration.

I do agree though that Kennedy will get closer to that kind of money than $1.2m.

That's a valid point.

Aside from MacArthur, the Caps narrowly avoided arbitration when they gave Eric Fehr $2.2 million for 2 years. He's about in Kennedy's class- more size but also a lot less durable.

Kennedy's arbitration rights scare me, he could cash in. I'm sure Shero's going to do the right thing though.

Won't go. Ville said before that he didn't feel well in Detroit. I think he likes to play now in Philly and would like to continue with Flyers but I think personally he will be 3.0 - 4.5 million player.

He's pretty similar player than Kovalev. Legs are kind of problem, and he needs perfect invironment to be succesful. It would be great to have talented finnish player, but I think he is going to somewhere else.
