I'll say that Plekanec deserve better than 0 vote.
Considering how structured is our lineup, our style etc...that we had two different goalies in two season with similar success, using an average goalie like Auld instead of Price should not make you a lottery team.
But more likely a team like Columbus or Toronto, 11th or 12th in the conference, 22-23th overall, an horrible position, but it could worse.
They have like us a decent forward group, their D is worse, though, but with a SV% around or even under .900 for the biggest part of their season, they cant do better.
It could be like Florida, a team with a very good goalie (Vokoun), a solid D (McCabe, Wideman, Kulikov), but absolutely nothing offensively. (Booth and Weiss are good players, but alone...impossible to perform)
Edmonton and Florida are the two-teams with their highest-scoring forward with less points than us...they're last in the two conferences.
(Florida was not last with Wideman and McCabe still in the lineup, though, more like 11-12th, too)
Plekanec being our best forward by a mile, our most-used forward in SH situation, and being the only consistent forward of the team, we sucked badly when he was out and when he just came back against Boston (shutout by the Sabres, humiliating losses against Bruins and Rangers...)
Its just a thought, but its also connected to the usual rant saying that we're alive because of our goaltending...
(And if we have to name a D who deserves it, its Hamrlik, not Subban. PK is excellent right now, but if Hamrlik is not that solid since October, there is no playoffs, and PK is hot "for nothing")
