What's with the Melnyk hate? I thought he was as candid as he could be, and he's always been very forthcoming with his time. I'd like to know who the 'bad guys' are if not the players, but you can't really expect him to reveal that. Come on now.

Sounds like Melnyk wants to replace Murray

My gut feeling too is Murray is gone, along with Clouston. Mainly I think it would be pretty weird to see Clouston leave and Murray get his 4th coach. Always felt like a package deal to me, that coupled with Melnyk talking about long term, Im not sure Murray wants to guide the team for 4 years, we need to have a GM in it for the long run.

Who cares? The guys filthy rich and has accomplised a lot in his life. Ot his team he can do what he likes with it. Eugene's a pimp.

Friedman should be gently cupping his balls during the interview.

I love that Melnyk cares, even if he is a bit of a goof ball.

I don't know... I got the impression that it's more-less up to Murray if he wants to keep going for a few more years. If he can't commit to 3-5 more years, then odds are he will be replaced.

IMO, Murray only wanted 1 year contracts but Melnyk wants a longer term commitment. If Bryan agrees he'll be back.

Melnyk's pretty direct... if he wanted to keep Murray he would have said that

Or Melnyk was purposely being vague because he'd rather have the conversation face to face with Murray rather than announcing his future on national TV.

Eugene Melnyk would make a good cartoon character.

Da Costa looking better as the game goes on. Don't know why he was behind the net when Michalek's shot resulted in a rebound, though.
