It really sucks that he died. Tremendous player and a genuinely nice guy.

Hoping the Bucs do something special a week from today.
Of course, the pregames will also include a special September 11 tribute for all NFL games, so hopefully it is done at a different time as to not lose meaning for both, as both are important. Neither one should be slighted.

What if the Rays sweep the series at Boston next weekend?

I didn't figure the Rays had meaningful games left this season. Guess I'm wrong.

Bucs game was hot as hell. Being in the 300 level I felt like the sun was a foot away from me the whole game. Was expecting more out of us today, but the Lions are a good team too and losing by one score isnt as bad as a blowout.

Rays need to just keep winning games, and keep praying that the RedSox and Yanks keep dropping some. It can happen but I still think 4.5 or whatever it is back is still a whole lot to make up with less than a few weeks left.. I will keep my fingers crossed though.

Well, given they play both the BoSox and the Yankees, they can control their own destiny somewhat. To say they'll run the table and not lose again is downright near impossible, but if the losses are in other series, and you win all the games against the big guns (which are two-game swings each time), it can happen.

He's on the Rams right? Wouldn't put too much into it, Eagles run defense is still pitiful.

We were lucky that game wasn't a blowout.

On the other hand, watching Stafford live finally is a pleasure to watch.

If we hadn't played the entire second half in a 2 minute offense, we could have gotten some more carries for Blount.

Everything about that game was unacceptable.

Meanwhile the Rays creep closer and closer...

I agreed with letting Cadillac leave, but we really should have brought someone else in. Right now we've got Blount and two third-stringers as backups. And we haven't been giving Graham regular carries in two years.

We're betting a lot on not much with our running backs.

Same with out linebackers. Our depth and quality there is horrendous.

Rays are probably done after dropping two straight in Baltimore. They need to take at least three of four in Boston to still have a chance but that's going to be tough to do. There's simply not enough time left.

Lets not kid ourselves, they have to straight sweep Boston

Obviously it's early in the season, and we have a young team, but it looks more like a big time FO blunder if there ever was one and the Bucs are known for many....

LBs are spotty at best and personally just don't see Blount as a "star" running back.

Hopefully I'm wrong....

Blount I always thought would shine later in the game after others had worn the D down a bit and it feels like thats true but one game is a ****** sample size.

To think the Rays would run the table and win out was crazy talk. They will lose games. It's WHO they lose to.

Which means GBL is right: the Red Sox MUST be swept if the Rays are to even have a chance. No sweep = odds of making it are near impossible.

The probable starters for the series look good if the Rays can get to Beckett on Friday. Is anyone afraid of Wakefield or Weiland? Plus we roughed up Lester last time, so it's possible to win 3 of those 4, which would gain us 2 games.

Oh I agree. Just saying that getting the lead down to two would keep them in it even if the chances would still be slim.

Frustrating to lose to a team like the O's with so much on the line.

Well, the game is promising so far in Boston. 5-1 Rays.

I screwed up and meant 6-1 but it doesn't matter now that it is 8-1.
