I think it's funny that ESPN protrays Gruden as some type of QB expert and even gives him his own show talking to the top rated QBs in the draft when his QB acquisitions included players like Chris Simms, Rob Johnson, Tim Rattay, Bruce Gradkowski, etc. and the one successful QB under Gruden with the Bucs was quickly benched for Brian Griese.

And then Raheem Morris comes in and drafts a guy that is 1,000 times better than all of those guys combined.
The NFL on Monday announced Tampa Bay's home game against Chicago will be held Oct.23 in London's Wembley Stadium. Tampa Bay played New England in London on Oct. 25, 2009, losing 35-7.
However, the NFL stated in a news release Monday: "Should the current labor situation be unresolved by Aug. 1, the game will be played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa." The NFL locked out its players last month after the sides couldn't come to terms on a new collective bargaining agreement.
Rays are three out in the AL East, so that bad start? Not a big deal. Take care of business and that gap behind the Yankees is nothing. Gotta love that the start wasn't a 100 percent season-killer for the Rays (though I hope it is for Boston, hehe.)
Meanwhile, The Downie and I are celebrating (for now) the Indians having the best record in the AL, and tied with the Rockies for the best overall record in MLB.
Tod Leiweke, the former Seahawks president whose brother, Tim, is trying to bring the NFL back to L.A., currently runs the Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL. Per the folks at JoeBucsFan.com, Tod Leiweke recently addressed during a radio interview the widely-held notion that the Buccaneers (and the MLB’s Rays) can’t fill their stadiums due to local economic conditions.
Tod Leiweke isn’t buying the “bad economy” line. He said that the St. Pete Times Forum was sold out on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for Lady Gaga, Iron Maiden, and Lightning hockey, respectively.
Between the whole Morneau thing and now this, they're gonna think we hate everyone in Tampa and St Pete. They're gonna think were....dare i say classless?
Can we just have Thunderbug start terrorizing kids at Clearwater beach again and just go for the trifecta?
The Morneau thing to me was overblown. Yeah it would have been more politic for the guys not to wear the hats and whatnot, but it was understandable under the circumstances and really not a big deal.
As far as what Leiweke said, Texbook is right, he probably shouldn't have taken on the Bucs. That could come back and bite him.
The big boys are all getting together for a party. Hopefully they can play nice.

TAMPA, FL - Tampa Bay Buccaneers co-chairman Bryan Glazer, Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik, and Tampa Bay Rays principal owner Stuart Sternberg will all be on hand as Event Co-Chairs when the Tampa Bay Sports Commission (TBSC) hosts the inaugural Tampa Bay Sneaker Soiree: A Celebration of Excellence in Sports Business.
The excitement takes place Thursday, June 2 at TPepin's Hospitality Centre and will mark the first time the Tampa Bay community has honored the "off the field" business accomplishments of each of the local sports properties and it will also feature an "owners' roundtable discussion" featuring each of the three franchise owners.
