If Claiborne is at 5 I'd take him but would be fine with Richardson, especially since Schiano seems to like to run the ball.

We need RB more than a corner.

Blount is good, but he's not a every down back.

Agreed especially if we're going to be a power running team again.

Saw today Schiano is going to be the new head coach. He's done a great job with the football program at Rutgers. He created a lot of excitement that wasn't there before. I'll always remember this game and that season with Ray Rice.

Time to start choppin

So now that we have Schiano, can we get Ray Rice? Pretty please?

I'm pretty sure the Ravens will just franchise him.

I have a hard time believing we draft a corner 5th overall. Definitely need Richardson or a stud lb or wr there. Maybe a RT

I could definitely see the Bucs taking Claiborne in the 1st and maybe Lamichael James in the 3rd.

Geez, we have so many holes we could hit on any position.

I would expect Claiborne if he's available, if not Richardson although Richardson may be a reach at #5. We need a scat back like Warrick Dunn to go along with Blount. Lumpkin is useless and Graham is good but getting older and more a short yardage/third down player. We could possibly trade down a few spots and still get Richardson and an extra pick or two. I wouldn't object to Blackmon either although his timing isn't world class but would be a threat and possibly open up some space for our other receivers. As Schiano said, he wanted to throw downfield and not these 12-15 play offensive series so we need someone that can go deep.

As for the secondary, we have big question marks. Is Ronde coming back? Sean Jones is a FA but he can go play elsewhere IMO. Is Schiano going to want players like Tanard and Talib on the team? Dominick didn't want Talib back but Raheem talked him into it so who knows on that front? The court may make that decision for us anyway. Can Cody Grimm stay healthy?

Then we'll also need a backup for Freeman....Johnson will probably be gone and Rudy doesn't have the arm strength to throw downfield.

BIGGEST question mark of all is....all these holes can't be filled through the draft....are the Glazers committed to spend in Free Agency?....or are we going to give Connor Barth a $29 million contract...

Oh yeah....draft Jeff Demps, RB, Florida in the 7th round....

Rice has stated that he's happy for Coach Schiano but he'll probably remain a Raven..... but anything can happen of course.

Why waste a pick? Look how well all the other sprinters have done in the NFL.

Yeah but those were wide receivers - at least Demps runs a 4.3 and is a RB. Giving up a 7th is nothing compared to what we'd get. Remember, we're talking about the Bucs scouting department.....I'd take a chance on Demps rather than getting another EJ Biggers. Also, many of those were sprinters that turned to football whereas Demps was a full-time football player that also did track.

Besides, you can trade down in the 5th or 6th a couple spots to pick up an extra 7th so it would be a real cheap move.

Cardinals deny Bucs permission to interview John McNulty (WR coach) for OC position with Bucs per Jason LaCanfora NFL.com

Drafting Demps would be a waste, not because he's not a good player, but because he's said he's done with football. He's going track full time and gonna try and make the Olympic team.

As far as Blackmon, It would be a miracle if he dropped to 5 considering teams may be willing to trade up into the top 3 to get him.

Hell, I wouldn't mind drafting Richardson in the 1st (possibly trading down if he'd drop that far), and grabbing a corner in FA, maybe going hard after Grimes. Maybe a good backup QB, but if they wanna draft one (and maybe i'm being a tad homerish here) but for a late round pick, Chandler Harnish out of NIU could be a steal. He reminds me a lot of JJ in that he's mobile but he also has a decent arm, so he'd make a good backup option.

Yeah, but then again, a lot of them say they're done with football and then they don't make it in track and have nothing left to fall back on except their degree in sports marketing....

I understand that, but as long as he's rated #16 on the draft board I wouldn't doubt someone is going to take a chance on him so there's no competition post-draft. I think it's worth taking a chance, but that's just my opinion of course.

I don't see him staying there for long. He's not doing combines or any pro days or workouts, so I don't really see any team for that matter using a pick on him.

Who has Demps ranked #16 on their draft board? Al Davis passed away months ago.

Okay...to clarify....he is rated the #16th RB in this draft on draftcountdown.com. He is rated #17 on nflscout.com and the ******************* has him listed as a late round steal despite his desire to go to the Olympics. And yes, Al Davis is still dead!

Edit: Wow...guess you can't say ****************!

Anyways, he's run as fast as a 4.2/40....I'm sure someone is going to take a chance.

Can we take Rainey instead? I'd take him over Demps in a heartbeat.

Too bad he only got one(?) carry in the Senior Bowl.
