I'm hoping Cameron Jordan instead of Bowers. Clayborn would be my 2nd choice.

Isn't there something... um, what's the word... funny?... about Gruden waxing poetic about Josh Freeman being the Bucs' QB?

Yeah, I'd have gone with Jordan too.

I don't know, okay pick I guess.

Niemann pulled after 84 pitches, only allowed 2 hits, none for extra bases. Why not screw with this guy's head even more, Joe.

I like the Clayborn pick. Jordan did not fit as well. Not picking Bowers is gusty, i'll be really interested in what he's going to do.

Kerrigan would have been my favorite, Clayborn was one of the secondary options.

The only thing that concerns me with Clayborn is just the 3.5 sacks in his senior year. Plus the arm thing.

He's still a better fit for us suprisingly than Jordan. Clayborn is a good 3 down back, explosive, and is a slightly better pass rusher than Jordan.

Although if the Giants hadn't grabbed him, and by what Jenna was saying, we DEFINITELY would have taken Amukamara.

And by far worst pick of the draft by any team is Christian Ponder to the Vikings. They could have traded down and still taken him.

Well, got Bowers too.

I know that DB and LB was also a need, but its hard to argue with getting a top-5 talent in the middle of the second. Health is obviously hanging over him, but its worth taking the chance in my view.

I would have hated Bowers at 20 but at 51 he's well worth the risk.

Clayborn has fantastic arm strength. I know guys emphasize size with linemen but a lot of guys have come out lately just fat, not strong, just fat - Clayborn actually has excellent upper body strength and uses his arms very well to create room for himself and does NOT let people get away from him. I like the pick.

Yes, I don't see the problem with his Erb's Palsy at all. It's not like he injured his shoulder his senior season. He earned a starting job at Iowa and became a first round pick with it, to me it shows his dedication to go through a ton of physical therapy. Kinda like Connolly's right hand.

Comparing the first 3 rounds last season to the 3 rounds this season, I think we're actually having a better draft this season. Bowers is great value at 51 and I absolutely LOVE the Mason Foster pick. Very physical player that can read and get around blocks with ease. Also really good at creating fumbles.

But if they're healthy, a Bowers/Price/McCoy/Clayborn line is just downright scary.

No question. Absolutely thrilled about this draft. I had a graduation ball for law school last night and was more excited about the draft than about finishing.

Luke Stocker is also an awesome pick.

Great blocking tight end, not fast but can locate gaps in coverage. Will be a great addition in 2 TE schemes with Kellen.

Ahmad Black is the 6th round pick. This is my favorite draft, I've liked every player selected. Black grew up a huge Bucs fan and his family has season tickets. Hoping Todman or Sturdivant in R6.

I'm SHOCKED Sturdivant's dropped this far.

And i'm kinda pissed the Bears took Enderle. I was kinda hoping we'd take him, especially since with trading up for Stocker for a 2012 4th, pretty much seals that we're gonna get that 4th back trading Josh Johnson.

If we are trading Johnson I'm hoping for Tyrod Taylor.

Allen Bradford:

Positives: Rugged downhill runner. Quickly presses the line. Lowers his shoulders and secures the ball with both hands as he enters traffic. Runs with good forward lean. Keeps his legs churning to grind out tough yards. Often able to break through the initial defender's tackle. Good vision and shows surprisingly light, quick feet and balance to step through the trash. Unlike many bigger backs, doesn't get carried away with being physical. Can get skinny through the line and isn't opposed to letting his underrated agility and speed beat the defender, rather than relying solely on his power. Saw time at fullback at USC and demonstrates a willingness to lower his shoulder to dictate the action as a lead blocker.

Negatives: Only marginal top-end speed. Might not be able to consistently beat NFL linebackers to the edge. Gets himself in trouble when he runs high, exposing himself (and the ball) to big hits. Has to do a better job of keeping his hands inside the pads of defenders when blocking in pass protection. Appears to have only average hands for the reception. Only caught four pass in over the past two seasons (for 76 yards) and has only 14 receptions over his career (176 yards, four touchdowns).

A jumbo backfield of Blount and Bradford might be fun.

Only pick I don't understand is Hardy. I would have taken someone like Noel Devine or OL depth but I can't complain too much, it was an awesome draft.

I absolutely love Ahmad Black, the Anti Sabby Piscitelli.

And to top it all off we got Anthony Gaitor. Talk about a huge upside pick.

By the way, all the celebrating you hear isn't limited to Osama bin Laden's death. The Downie and I are also celebrating the fact the Indians have the best record in baseball!

Agreed, the Hardy pick was bizarre. A soft pass catching tight end who does not have the speed to threaten the seam or even outmatch NFL LB's.

I'd much rather have seen Noel Devine, Mark Herzlich, Derrick Locke, Weslye Saunders, in that order.

Saunders at least has some potential as a blocker if he doesn't work out as a two way TE.
