Looks like he's back.

It's too bad, I really though Shields would come out with a solid performance against Seattle. Instead, he looks like he did last year. I hope this doesn't screw with him going forward.

He was due for a stinker, hopefully that's out of his system so he can bring his A game against Boston in two weeks.

Everytime Sternberg opens his mouth I care less and less about the possibility of them moving.

Thanks Jeff Vinik and Tod Leiweke for not trying to guilt fans into attending games.

The Rays need to send Sonnanstine to the Siberian league, he shouldn't pitch another game for the franchise.

Maybe they can sign Dewon Brazelton to take his place.

http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/po...t-of-tampa-bay

Article on ESPN saying the Rays need to relocate out of Tampa Bay, though it mentions a lot of the stuff we've long discussed, such as the commute to the Trop sucks, the St. Pete mayor is an idiot, etc.

So really, nothing new to read, I guess.

ALTHOUGH... the picture to poke fun of the Rays' attendance woes is from the Devil Rays days...

I thought the article was a good read. To me it has so much to do with the stadium and St. Pete location. The Bucs poor attendance for the past few years is just a fluke to me, as they had season ticket waiting lists just a few years before that; even before the super bowl run. This to me shows sports can thrive in Tampa, they just need to be in the actual city and not on the outskirts in st. Pete as was said in the article. It's a shame that they may leave because baseball is a great sport for this area. From the little league to high school and minors. A different stadium in hillsborough is a solution that I think would definitely work. Sucks the mayor of st Pete won't let it fly..

Niemann with a decent start tonight. If the pattern of his season continues it means he's going to get shelled in his next start.

Price, Shields, and Joyce were named all-stars. Shields was a lock, Joyce was iffy because of his horrible June...I'm surprised Price made it though. I think he made it on past reputation moreso than performance this year.

He has looked good so far tonight against the Yankees. Just gave up a solo homer to Cano in the bottom of the sixth to end the shutout bid, but otherwise doing well. He has a 5-1 lead, too, so that should be making him feel easy on the mound.

I made my comment in jest, but I'll take credit for a reverse jinx. Good to see him have two good starts back to back. Hopefully he can build off of it and become as consistent as he was to start the first half of last season. Davis went on the DL so we should be seeing Cobb up again after the all-star break.

Shields took the tough loss today. Sucks he had the run-scoring error, but really, 1-0 loss to CC? Can't fault him, that's for sure!

How do you guys see the Rays at the break? Better off than you thought?

They are doing as good as I thought they would. If they can weather this brutal and important stretch of games and still be hanging in there, then I could see them fighting for the Wild Card. If they have a losing streak anytime soon, I don't think they'll be able to recover.
