I think a ton of credit should go to Kevin Dineen, who has turned out to be an absolute gem of a developmental coach.

Three-peat! Congrats Luke!

How about going for a four-peat with BZK next season?

Agreed. Probably stating the obvious here, but the Sabres need to do everything in their power to keep him. He's been doing a phenomenal job as Portland's HC..

Nothin' like a three-fer. Congrats to Adam, Dineen, and the Sabres & Pirates staff. Truly something to be proud of.

Nice. Good things are happening in Portland. That speaks pretty well about the future.

I think one of Pegula's biggest moves this offseason will be figuring out a way to keep Dineen.

I mean, if he's truly opening up the check book, will he be willing to give Dineen an NHL coach-type salary or more to convince him to stay?

What's the historical success rate for AHL rookies of the year in the bigs?

There are a lot of small, offensive guys in that list, historically -- including Ennis, Gerbe, and Sterling before them. There are some good players in recent years like Rene Bourque and Teddy Purcell. It's no guarantee of anything. But it is a nice honor.

Congrats to Adam and Dineen and the devo and scouting staffs. And I'll give some credit to Mancari, too een though Adam picked up his game again recently.

Nice! And that's with Myers skipping the league completely. Our drafting has been great the last several years.

The crazy thing is that Kassian, if he plays 60+ games in Portland, probably has a better preseason likelihood of winning it than either Gerbe, Ennis or Adam did.

2008 NHL Draft

1 (12). Tyler Myers - 2010 Calder Trophy
1 (26). Tyler Ennis - 2010 Dudley "Red" Garrett Memorial Award
2 (44). Luke Adam - 2011 Dudley "Red" Garrett Memorial Award

Nice return.

Don't forget that Gragnani already won outstanding AHL defenseman of the year.

Yes, Darcy and the crew have been doing very well lately...can't wait to see what the influx of $$$ is going to do for the scouting department.
