Thanks for this thread. I'm excited about the upcoming season.

Enjoyed several of the games last year and this year the matches and quality of play should be even better.

Foote field is a nice enjoyable facility and now easy to get to on the LRT line. Great way to spend some hours outside on our nice summer days.

Great news on all fronts for soccer in Edmonton with the upcoming FIFA World Cup tourneys here as well in 2014 and 2015.

I'm stoked. I'll probably at least go to the TFC match at Commonwealth since my last exam is that day.

I'd like to catch a few games this year. It sounded like they had some real quality games last year and it's nice to have soccer back in the city.

I am glad that they are mostly staying out of Commonwealth as that place is horrible for a football game.

I heard rumors that MLS has a plan of having a Canadian MLS division. Anyone else heard this? Edmonton would I imagine get consideration?

That would be amazing but definitely dont see it in the near future. First thing is first. Lets get a soccer specific stadium or atleast renovate Foote Field.

I suppose this could work but they would need to add around 7,000 seats to this place and get rid of the Eskimos practice turf. It would make more since to renovate foote a little and add natural grass or paint over the grid iron lines. Started a facebook page dedicated to this subject @ Soccer Specific Stadium For Edmonton Facebook

Anyways Today is FC Edmonton's SEASON OPENER!! game is @ 5:30 and will be streamed live at the FC Edmonton web-site! HERE FC Edmonton is hosting a viewing party at Sports Central starting at 5.

THIS IS IT!!!
ED MON TON!!! ED MON TON!!! ED MON TON!!!

0-0 After the first half! Edmonton is controlling the majority of the play and generating more chances. could of had 2 goals by now. Alex Semenets speed created some nice chances and Shaun Saiko missed a golden opportunity near the end of that half!. pretty exciting!!

FC Edmonton beat the Strikers in a thrilling come from behind win 2-1.

Edmonton the better club most of the day and knocking the ball around nicely and creating consistent chances.

Edmonton was the better team on the back end as well I thought.

Great start in their inaugural match.

From the highlights that they showed on CTV the lighting made it look like the game was played in Swaziland or something.

FC Edmonton are in Atlanta today to take on the Silverbacks. Kickoff is @ 5:30pm and will once again be streamed online

http://www.atlantasilverbacks.com/pro/index.php?id=60

I will update streams before the game starts if needed.
Sports Central is once again streaming the game as well. So if you wanna cheer on our boys with dozens of other fans that is the designated pub to do so.

Here is for going 2-0 on the road!

Terrible logo. Who drew it, a 7 year old?
Get someone with some artistic flair to come up with something more professional.
Just by looking at the logo it tells me it's the same old amateurish try to make soccer a go.
I wish them success but please at least make it look like a professional product.

FC Edmonton win 1-0. That's 2 road wins in a row to start off the season! 6 points is also good enough for first place in the NASL!

So you want to base your entire opinion just on the logo? Alrighty there. You're not really wishing them success if that's all you're doing.

I don't even see what's so wrong with the logo?
