I could understand joking around about it but it sounds like people were actually bothering him about it.

Seriously. Way to give him negative vibes about the fanbase already.

@ChrisKreider you shouldn't have to apologize. Root for your team while you still can. I promise that not all NYR fans are that insensitive.

That's seriously ****ing terrible that people were giving him such a hard time.

Woah, I'm actually a bit surprised they wouldn't allow it.

He seems like a real nice kid, it's one of the reasons its upsetting me so much that people are being such ******.

So not to count our chickens before they hatch or anything but where would Erixon slot in on our prospect list? Behind Kreider? Slightly ahead?

Come on, Kreider will be fine. I'd rather people not harass him on Twitter, but the guy is for all intents and purposes a professional athlete. This is just the tip of the iceberg for him if he plans on continuing a social media presence.

yeah, they wont allow any player interviews. Grachev, and Anisimov both agreed to do interviews, but the media relations dept put the kabosh on them. prolly cuz i badmouth sather on the site.

That's very cool, Inferno.

He does seem like a nice kid and very bright.

I dislike how people were giving him grief. Who cares if he roots for Boston. He grew up there. He knows he's a Ranger.

Leech, my favorite player ever, who I never had the pleasure and honor to meet unfortunately, grew up in Mass and was probably a Bruins fan. Big whoop.

Great insight in that article. If Bourque wants to make the NHL, he needs to work on his lower body strength like crazy. Possibly scoot around like Darren Helm and create some havoc while playing good overall hockey. I think that is who he should be watching.....

Born in Texas, moved to Connecticut at 3 months and grew up there until college.

So I am not sure who he liked growing up. But I agree. Let the kid be himself

biggest thing first for bourque imo is to show that he can stay healthy against grown men in the ahl...concussions and other injuries playing in the Q doesn't sound promising when going against pros.

Bourque is very talented. Just so tiny. Plus the concussions.

I've met Chris a handful of times too. Just as nice and genuine as he seems, and approaches the game / his development extremely professionally.

I wonder who the utter morons are that bugged him about it. Probably people with no wives, no lives, completely insecure about everything around them...Or maybe just a dumb fan wait are they the same thing?

Yeah, I really like this kid. In a sense one of the "long-shot" prospect I've liked the most in a very long time.

Not because I think he is a lock to make it, but if he makes it, and its a big if, he is the type of player who you win hockeygames with.

I hope this kid can become a Canadian Marty Straka. Its going to take some time. He will not be able to live on his game in any specfic are, when/if he makes it, it will be because of his complete game. And it takes time to get that all-round. But the kid definitely got a shot.

I'm not sure Bourque has the talent to be a Marty Straka. Marty was a very very good offensive player and I just don't see that talent in Bourque.

Marty was darn smart and he got to play with darn good players, and learned how the absolute best thought and played offensive hockey.

But look at his numbers, he is born ni 1972:
1994-95 Pittsburgh PenguinsNHL 31 4 12 16
1994-95 Ottawa Senators NHL 6 1 1 2
1995-96 Ottawa Senators NHL 43 9 16 25
1995-96 New York Islanders NHL 22 2 10 12
1995-96 Florida Panthers NHL 12 2 4 6
1996-97 Florida Panthers NHL 55 7 22 29
1997-98 Pittsburgh PenguinsNHL 75 19 23 42

Not so impressive untill he turned 27 y/o basically.

I don't think there is a big difference really between a Patrice Bergeron and Bourque. There is a small difference, and that could be enough for him to never make it and become a good player in the NHL. But he Bourque has a ton of hockey in him really. Tremendous skater. Very good at carrying the puck when skating in traffic and at full speed. World class all over. Very good work ethic. A smart passer heading up ice. Good defensively.

He lacks top end ability in terms of a world class sniper/playmaking game. If he had any of them, hed become a star. He won't.
