I couldn't have asked for a better regular season, on and off the ice. They seem to have "it."

The Great: This is the showing Miller needed to have to get back his confidence. Watch out, anyone but the Pens .

Lindy's move turned out to be genius, but I would have started Miller tonight.

Another good: Crowd looked and sounded awesome, playoff atmosphere and even when the Sabres were down, they were loud. No comparison to January/February games.

I have to admit I was not a fan of Vanek once but this guy is the most improved star player in the NHL!He has gone from a one trick noncaring pony to a two way leader !!I was also wrong about Gerbe he is a gamer and yes he has arrived.Hats off to Butler who has queitly been our best d man the past few games .

Not that it matters now, but Briere's goal shouldn't have counted. Hartnell came in offsides.

Was just watching the replay and noticed it.

Nice. I called it when it happened in the GDT, too.

Sorry, had to pat myself on the back.

didn't they say during the game that as long as you have possession of the puck you can come into the zone backwards.

I am so mind-breakingly excited right now I don't have the emoticons to show it. This one will have to do a piss-poor job of expressing it.

They mentioned during the broadcast that if you come in backwards with possession it's not offsides.

Not sure what the rule is, but they did specifically mention it during an intermission.

Players ( and puck ) are moving right to left. Hartnell crossed the blueline before the puck, so you could say...

he blue himself.

Which is apparently legal in the NHL.

Yeah, I just went and read through the offside rule. As long as the attacking player maintains control of the puck and there are no other offside conditions, he's allowed to have his skates across the line before the puck. Seems like an odd condition to the rule, but that would make Hartnell's play legal.

If the play was offsides, might explain why Monty seemed to just give up on the play.

edit: alas, it was onsides; furthermore, the hockey messiah has returned, all is pure, and Monty's in the ****house.

Ugly:

The chick who won 7th Man. If you're really the "biggest Sabres fan" you'd have respect for #7 and refuse to put that jersey on.

Really annoyed me.

G:
- The win
- The crowd
- The alum
- Gerbe's badass goal... I honestly didn't believe that that insanity actually worked. PERFECT.
- Vanek's badass winner.
- The Flyers and Sabres just waiting for the point. Very interesting moment to see these two teams just agree to let the clock run down.

B:
- Inability to clear the puck.
- Steven Montador's screw-ups.

U:
- Powerplay was HORRIBLE.
- ANOTHER short-handed goal for Philly.
- Offside.

Eh, who gives a ****. Playoffs, baby!

The organization just gave her an honor. It would of been hard for her to turn it down. The 7 was for 7th man and not for Martin, I don't think a slight was intended. What Number should go on that jersey?

Not saying I'd have turned down the jersey, but I wouldn't have WORN it, as a sign of respect.

You really think the organization wouldn't have been ok with that?
