they probably would of been ok with it. But, she was probably so high on adrenaline she would never give it a second thought. The thought that it was Rico's number didn't hit me until you pointed it out. I'm in my low 40's so Rico was one of my first hockey Heros. So' i'm not sure I'd expect her too.

I just don't want to get offended at what was supposed to be a nice gesture.

Awesome awesome game.

Gerbe's 2nd goal - unbelievable!
Vanek's goal - a thing of beauty.
The crowd's reaction to the 3-3 tie -fantastic.

The crowd was electric. The fan appreciation events were truly top notch. Someone in our row won Ennis' jersey. So stinkin' close to me!! Oh, and the person who won the $40k 50/50 was sitting directly behind me with his wife and baby. It was fantastic.

And the pregame was awesome. I cried when I saw Martin's jersey.

Overall - I couldn't have asked for more tonight.

Well, the Jersey name said 7th man....not 7: Martin

We can differentiate this.

Carcillo: GP- 55 4G 2A -13

Gerbe: GP- 62 16G 14A +11

And you just got owned by the little guy you tried to demean by patting on the head. Impressive season, Dan.

That Vanek goal was... amazing. The speed burst was a thing of ****ing beauty.

"3 games left in the season and the team needs to clinch a playoff spot?

Well, I think I'll just get 6 points in the first 2 games including the OT winner in one."

Vanek also 15th in the league in scoring now with 73 points.

If Vanek wasn't so damn snake-bitten, he probably would've ended up in the top 10 easily.

11 points away from his career best season, 1 assist away from a new career high in assists, and enjoying his career low in PIMS. Defensive play is at an all-time high.

This is the player Lindy Ruff vowed to mold Thomas Vanek into 3 years ago.

Was just watching the replay and noticed it.
If you have clear (dangling it) possession of the puck you can carry the puck in behind you.

This Pegula era is fantastic. We all need to remember not to take this for granted. We are very lucky fans right now.

The normal bi-polar nature of sports fandom needs to take a backseat in Buffalo this spring if they don't win the Cup. This team was dead in the water and now this. Just enjoy it from here out.

Yes. A gamble by Ruff that paid off. It was a different team in front of Miller. That's no slight to Jhonas - but I think putting the team MVP back into action for the third helped calm the waters. Miller's the team's rock.

Props to Ruff. Ballsy. And it worked.

Both teams adjusted their schemes when Miller came in.
Philly stopped crashing the net and Buffalo started being more aggressive.
It was visibly noticably from my vantage point, like two different games.

I was watching the game at home, invited a co-worker over who's from Philly originally and a Flyers fan. Sabres are 2-0 when he's in my house watching.

If we play Philly in the first round I will drag him over if needed...

He even fistbumped me on Gerbe's goal, that as FANTASTIC.

Ugly: That game almost made me smoke... lol.

Ruff has gotten so much **** on this board over his handling of Vanek the past 5 years...but in the end he knew exactly what he was doing. And the Vanek we see today is the complete player he is because of Ruff. Ruff got Vanek to buy in to what it takes to be an elite player in the league (while essentially shielding him from any media criticism--seriously how many times has he basically deflected any blame away from Vanek?), and Vanek might just be headed down that route now.

Kudos to Ruff. He put Vanek in an environment where as a young player he didn't have the pressure on him to carry the team and that allowed Vanek to mature and develop...and now that Vanek has responded he's starting to let him take some of that pressure off the team, beginning with putting a letter on him.

The ****ing Awesome:

April 8, 2011. My best day as a Sabres' fan, I think (and I've been a fan for a good while). I've never been prouder of the team I've rooted for in any sport than I am of this one right now.

PLEASE tell me someone has video of Miller pumping the crowd? My DVR cut out as soon as Vanek slammed into the board after that filthy goal of his. Didn't even get to hear the call.

Gerbe's 2nd half was splendid and tonight was the exact same.

I have to put on the bad the 2nd line, they did nothing good, Boyes is useless at center we need him on the wing, Ennis was not really good either but anyway we are in and even able to end 6th !!!!

On the ugly , Monty played his worst game as a Sabre, M.A Gragnani usually not good on defensive and good with the puck, tonight he made 2 good defensive plays but useless with the puck creating too much turnovers.

Also Enroth ended up with the no decision and i'm happy he didn't deserve to lose, it was like a pitcher who pitched into a 1-0 game, no one deserve to lose.

And add to the great, for the 3rd year in a row we have the AHL rookie of the year, congrats to Luke Adams who won it after Ennis and Gerbe
