I did some quick research on him, and he seems like a powerfoward in the making. Can score goals, but not sure if it can translate in the NHL level.

From Brock Otten blog

Scouting report from a February 18th game vs Sault Ste.Marie
Quote:
Berger has had a good season for the Generals. Perhaps not to the level that I expected, but with the balanced scoring attack Oshawa has been employing, being third in goals on the team and on pace for 30 on the season is still solid. Berger remains most effective on the powerplay (third in the league in powerplay goals), where he scored last night (one of two on the night). He's not the most gifted skater, but he plays the game hard, he goes hard to the net and he has good hands in close. Both of his goals on the night were of that ilk. As a big body in front of the net on the powerplay, I think there's a chance he gets a look from an NHL team for a contract this offseason.

yea, he is not looking great in the videos. But at least he does it, he is big and seeing how many players were called up from the farm team this is a nice addition to Hamilton fro the next seasons.

I'm fairly confident that Berger would have been drafted last year had he not broken his ankle at the WJC's last year. He was on a tear before that and came into this season on a mission. What you need to know about Berger is summed up in part by his 14 powerplay goals this season (nearly half of his goals on the season). He's 6'4, 200lbs and does a lot of his damage in front of the net (call him the Swiss Tomas Holmstrom). But he's also got an excellent wrist shot and has potential as a goal scorer at the next level. He works hard at both ends of the ice, throws his weight around and is a leader for his teammates (wearing an A for Oshawa this year). He's already got 4 goals in 2 playoff games this year. Someone needs to give this guy a contract.

If we let him develop in Hamilton, he could turn into something promising but for right now hes a potential 3rd line powerforward to me if there is even any room

How can he play for Les Canadiens???

6'4'' - too tall
Not too fast - he need speedsters
Good down low particularly on the power play - that is not a Montreal Canadien!!!

Bottom line, love it, he may never amount to anything but he is the type who fills missing needs we have. Good signing, hopefully he will develop into something that helps us.

Now we could use a goalie too for development - how about Evan Mosher or Keith Kincaid!!!

And a defenseman, any Brendon Nash clones out there???

Well a big body that goes in front of the net is always a plus... looks like an Engqvist 2.0

Seems like Timmins kept an eye close on Oshawa Generals... Same team as a certain Nicklas Jensen!

Interesting. He has a good frame but some seem to think he needs to work on his skating. I guess we'll wait and see.

Will he join the Dogs?

Really like this signing (well, like all the others...), especially the fact that he's tall, plays physical and that his game is in front of the net, not something we have a lot in the system...

I see him being a replacement for Pouliot. We need more big players that like to get their goals on the interior, not play with the puck on the exterior.
