Then where does Kadri play? With the way he's played he'll make the team next season.

Kadri-Bozak-Armstrong
Brown-Komarov-Orr
Brent/Boyce

b b but Burke hates Euros...........................
Good signing if true, possibly brings another dimension to the bottom 6.

Yet another solid late pick from JFJ btw. He might have had horrible negotiation skills but he did have a good eye for young talent.

Yeah, I'd say that's exactly what it means. His ability to produce offensively is about as low as any NHL forward.

To say that someone who had 8 point in 50 games has offensive prowess is just crazy.

He is a physical and defensively sound player, who plays his role, but offense is not part of it.

I have no idea what they plan to do with Kadri, but he's not well-suited to a third line role in Burke's system.

I made that thread (with my friend) last year after we saw him play.

Awesome news! Always read that he's a "super" pest with some what of an offensive game.

After watching Mike Brown this year, I have to say he creates a fair share of scoring chances, he's really fast and he attacks the net, he's getting chances. Now Freddie Sjostrom, there's a guy with zero offensive ability, he's been here like two years and I cant remember him once making a move, shot, or pass that created a scoring chance that put pressure on the goalie.

I only think that at 5'10" and under 200lbs, he might be a bit of a liability.

Brown is an inch taller, but weighs 201. Dale Mitchell is the same way.

on the Leafs... with their current system, Kadri is top 6 or nothing. It's that simple... he got 3rd line minutes this year to get his feet wet at the NHL game because he wasn't ready for the major minutes.

My gawd, you're quite ignorant. So, you simply evaluate a players worth out of stats and an ability to appear on a score sheet? Brown has been the guy who gets the offense rolling for the 4th line most games.

The guy plays less than 10 minutes a game, and sees a great deal of his time on the PK.

I'll agree with you that his role is to agitate, but he does more than just run around being a wrecking ball.

You're basing this purely off games played and point production? LOL. Others are correct, I don't think you watch any of the actual games.

I've always disliked his play whenever he's been on Finland's WC roster. Stupid penalties, no hockey sense.

If he has improved since I've seen him as much as it would seems looking at the stats he's put up in KHL then maybe he might actually have some shot at getting to NHL level. I wouldn't keep my hopes up though.

This is why I feel he wont be suiting up fulltime for the Leafs anytime soon.

He's a great addition for the Marlies, because he is indeed a "super" pest. He provides an unbelievable amount of energy on the ice, he's a good character and he plays 100% every shift.

The problem is, he doesnt have much hockey sense. And for him to go from the KHL to the AHL/NHL, we're going to see some growing pains.

He has all the potential to be a very good 4th line agitator whom can really get under opposing players skin, but it may take some time for him to adjust (even tho he's better suited for the NHL) due to the fact he's never been the brightest hockey mind IMO.

Lupul - #1 Centre - Kessel
Kulemin - Grabovski - Kadri
Frattin/Komarov/UFA signing (Upshall/Glencross - Komarov/Bozak - Armstrong
Boyce - Komarov - Brown

Trade MacArthur and/or Bozak for picks or add for an established #1 Centre.

I like how our bottom 6 is getting stacked. Brown, Zigomanis, Sjostrom, Brent, Brown, Frattin, Orr, Rosehill are going to be battling for bottom 6 spots.

I think Frattin will become a 3rd line player. I'm pencilling in Kadri on the 2nd line.

Lupul-Colborne-Kessel
Kulemin-Grabovski-Kadri
Frattin-Bozak-Armstrong.
Brown-Brent/Boyce/Zigo-Rosehill.

But I don't think Komarov is NHL ready.
I'm going to say MacArthur might get moved.

I can see Burke targeting a puck-moving PP pointman on defense before a #1 Center. Think he'll give Colborne a longer look before he decides to make a move and trade a lot of assets away.

I think Bozak would do just fine in a 3rd line role. But I could see moving MacArthur.

The numbers don't lie. This guy can't score, at any level. Saying he has offensive prowess is not grounded in any facts.

If you don't believe I watch games that's fine. Maybe you ought to re-examine what the words "offensive" and "prowess" mean. While you're at it, look up the word "ignorant", just for kicks. You might find a familiar face.

So you're saying for a guy who's a 4th liner and gets in all actuality 5-6 minutes of ice time(the remaining 4 minutes are PK time) doesn't bring any offense because the score sheet doesn't show it. Because he appeared in 50 games, so he should have more. What world do you live on?

The guy has got some offensive talent for sure, and creates some really good chances. So what if he's not on the scoring sheet every night, it's not often you find 4th liners with that kind of ice time who are.

I'd have no issue bringing him in whether it's up here or in the AHL. There's always so much focus put on the top 6 forwards but if you can build the bottom 6 like Detroit does then you can really match up well against other teams.
