Crosby has setback, concussion symptoms return.

Per both the Pentwitter, and Bob Pompeani twitter.

Also, the first time I've actually heard him speculate at 2 concussions in 4 days.

Really starting to worry about the rest of his career.

Knowing what we know about the long-term effect of concussions, the likelihood of additional future concussions, and the amount of money Crosby has made to this point, he needs to retire. I think an unbiased individual with perspective (i.e. not Sidney or hockey fans) and knowledge of concussions would come to this conclusion significantly more often than not.

Well Pierre-Marc Bouchard took a full year before returning. I'm sure Sidney loves the sport and will do everything he can to return but if it means to wait a full year like PMB, he should. Same for Savard.

As a fan of Ovechkin in the Crosby/Ovechkin debate, even I don't like what has happened to him.

Honestly, this is going to be ****ing terrible if he is forced to retire over this. Or even if he's not nearly the same player again. He was obviously one of the (if not THE best) greatest players in the game currently.

But his personal health is obviously the most important thing right now, and should continue to take priority over his hockey career.

More than a little early to be talking about the end of his career, hopefully he'll be fine sooner rather than later. If Crosby actually has his career cut short by concussions, all hockey fans lose

Given what we currently know about concussions (even when ignoring the likelihood of additional horrific findings in the future) and the severity of his symptoms, it's never too early for him to be having this discussion.

Hockey's just a game that we love so much we've managed to create a professional league out of it. But it's still just a game. And is the game worth the risk he'd be undertaking by returning? That's ALWAYS a valid discussion.

Selfishly, I want him to return. The Pens are my second favorite team, and I have a lot of family in Pittsburgh. I want the doctor to say that nothing bad will happen to you if you return. But I know that is not that case. I would openly applaud a decision to retire because it would show a maturity and perspective that is almost never seen in athletics.

While I admit I am not a fan of Crosby and hate him, and it is early still(he always dismantles my team). This is not good, for him or the game. Here's hoping he can regain his form as it would be more than a damn shame if he can't.

This sucks but we can probably keep the "jump to conclusions" welcome mat in the closet for a little longer.

The league needs him back...say what you want about him. The Penguins definitely aren't the same without him. I hope he's able to return at some point.

Brian Burke & Colin Campbell think there are no problems with headshots in the league.....

Whoever was responsible for allowing Sid to return to the ice after suffering the first concussion should never be allowed to work in the NHl again.

He still has all spring and summer to get better so unless this causes him to miss games next season I won't be worried for his career. As much as I can't stand Crosby it would be horrible to lose a generational talent to injury this early in his career.

This kind of news just sucks for fans of hockey. Concussions are really unfair.

I'm not a fan of the guy, but even I never would want to see him hurt.

He's good for the game, even if it's for the Penguins.

It may take a while, but I hope to see him back someday.

I don't get why Steckel gets so much blame. His hit seemed more accidental. If anything, blame Hedman for his hit, better yet, blame the Pens for not sitting Crosby after the first hit; blame the the typical "I feel ok, let me play!" thinking that is so predominant.

I'm pretty sure it's Bertuzzi's fault.

Agree. Those were not particularly dirty hits. This one is 100% the fault of the Penguins. If Crosby's career is over, he (or insurance) has a very good case for a lawsuit against the Penguins, I'd imagine. Maybe then the large will finally take things like concussions seriously,
