The VS feed is actually a "joined in progress" feed after the Detroit/Phoenix game ends (scheduled to end a half hour before Caps/Rangers, but if it goes to overtime then no Caps/Rangers at all).

But my question is, if the local Washington and NY stations are carrying the game, will we be blacked out from it on VS?

I hate this, always get blacked out. I dont have the option of ordering MSG or switching providers being in an apartment complex with a standard set of Channels for everyone. I get versus and always get my hopes up that the game will be on Versus and then it is blacked out. Are we certain it will be blacked out come playoff time? I dont want to watch on my computer for the playoffs

If you're in the NY metro area, how do you get Versus and not MSG? Dish?

In any event, YES. If it's on MSG and Versus, then it's blacked out on Versus for the Metro area.

******* ridiculous, more of the same PR crap, Rangers fan continuously get dumped on by MSG. Prior to the last game I can't remember a fan gave away, opening night? Oh but we have the MSG block party to look forward to, I mean who can't wait to watch the Liberty and Red Bulls? Add in Melo and Amare in 60 played 24/7 plus the usual Rangers classics aka games from '94 or '97

I go to school in Storrs, Ct and have Charter Cable. I guess because the apartment complex as a whole has the option to order MSG, it is blacked out?

Just a little OT, but not really.

If you have Cablevision, you can see the game in HD on Channel 414, if it's on MSG+2.

I'm also curios if it's on MSG+, what the complaint is. It's still in HD and just one channel away from MSG.

I dunno - maybe go to a friend's house not in the Apt. complex?

I don't think you can watch via NHL's Gamecenter, either, as that's blacked out locally as well - even if you pay for the service.

Just wanted to say LET'S GET IT ON!!!

Just kidding. I love the Rangers and I grew up rooting for them, moved to DC in 1994 and kind of adopted the Caps after the Rangers won the Cup (my work was done ). Plus after Ovie, Ryan C. is my absolutely favorite player. I even bought his USA jersey last year.

Obviously I want the Caps to win, but of all the teams to lose to, I could handle the Rangers the best.

Good luck and can't wait to get going on Wed.

I was just informed that the first Rangers playoff matchup will be on MSG plus, due to the 82nd and final game of the Knicks regular season. Rangers fans are some of the most loyal in the entire league and essentially all of sports. Having continuously doled out money in support of a team that has 1 Stanley cup in the past 70+ years, I find it an absolute slap in the face that MSG and Cablevision would even consider choosing to air a regular season Knick game, over a Rangers playoff game. I realize this email won't change anything but at least I know that I spoke up for what is right.

In addition, keep raising the Rangers ticket prices, I already dropped my season tickets after 10 years of being a loyal customer and I await the day that prices go back down due to your realization that you're pricing out the average human being.

Sincerely,

Adam Bethon

There will be streams all over the place for people that are getting shutout here. From past experiences, many of them will be high quality.

I'm stuck listening to Joe B and Locker, the Caps guys. *barf* I mean I could watch it online, but I'd rather watch it in HD on my huge TV. And then I can just mute it, and listen to the Rangers radio feed. Works great.

I'm only 21 and as a college kid certainly can't afford season tickets. My dad is a huge rangers fan and after they tried to move us to the 400's for the 3rd straight season, he just up and dropped our plan. He was extremely dissapointed in how they treated us as customers. I still went to about 15 games this year, all from stubhub. I also bought the playoff tickets off stubhub as well. I occasionally got below face value and obviously their was no hassle having to sell tickets last minute if i couldn't go.

Overall Stubhub has made it more worthwhile to not have season tickets. For crappy games against teams like the wild you can get like 20-30 dollar seats. Much more worth it imo.

Dolan and MSG are easily the greediest owners in the entire NHL. The islanders actually lowered their season ticket prices next year. Their full season plan is less than a half season plan to the Rangers.

Do you have comcast? How well does that sync up? I have direct tv, so I don't think it syncs very well, but I may have to try it.

It is what it is.

The Ranger ownership will raise the prices as high as they can go without dropping revenue. Ultimately its up to the fanbase to change things. A team with such a large fanbase can do that.

The area I think will come back to bite them is in the 400s. The tiered seats being a form of price discrimination, I think we'll have less middle class and otherwise fans being able to afford the seats. One can also argue that the 300's and 400's provide the real atmosphere of a game.
