I see what many will find to be a surprisingly tough and stressful series, one which we will win in ....7 games. So the Game 7 streak ends silencing the critics and we move on...likely to face flyers in round 2. How quaint.

Habs tough match up, Price is a very good goaltender. Yes, I hate him too but he is a damn good goalie, playing 70 plus games for a team with an injury ravaged d-corp. Now he doesn't have any history of playoff success so he is under pressure, if he wilts then it will be an easy series. I however think he is a heck of a goalie and I expect him to play very well.

Habs were intimidated by bruins at times but they aren't stupid and know the bruins can't be picking fights in playoffs, somewhat minimizing that toughness advantage.

Simply put, habs aren't going to fight. Bruins play better when fighting and there will be very few chances to do so in this series and if the bruins go looking to force the issue, the habs are going to turtle and take the PP chance. Everytime.

IMO, habs have no answer for Looch Krejci Horton line, and that line should have big series. Also, Chara will really limit habs top line at even strength.

For habs, their PP will do some damage and they will get plenty of chances...especially when at home as we all too well know.

Game 1 is huge. Don't kid yourselves, if we lose Game 1 to a team we just humiliated 7-0 there will be plenty of extra pressure on us.

Tim Thomas has had an A+ season, he is under some pressure however to lead us deep into the playoffs, something he has never done before.

Easiest thing for us bruins fans, good win in game 1 putting pressure on habs.

I am very confident Bruins win but it will take longer than many expect. B's in 7.

Bruins in 5.

The Habs are no match for the Bruins and only one guy can save them: Price. If he plays at the level of Halak of last year, the Habs have a chance to extend it past game 5.

Horton will be our best player in this series.

Peverley will also be key for our 3rd line offense.

If the B's shut down the worst road team in these playoffs the first two games and go to Mtl up 2-0 like they should, it could even be a 2nd sweep in three years.

Easiest possible matchup for round 1.

Now, just don't let them think they have a chance and finish them early. they are just no match for the B's.

Next.

I strongly disagree with this statement. Your best game against the Habs was last one when you guys only cared about playing hockey. The other win, the 8-6 Brawlfest, it was still a close game where both goalies sucked. It could've gone one side or the other. Anyway, I came here to wish you a good series, not like Habs-B's tend to suck but...

Enjoy!

Don't let the score let you beleive it was a close game. The Habs scored 4PP goals and Price was very good despite allowing 8 goals while Timmy was crap that game. That was a pure domination by the Bruins.

To be honest, I remember mostly the brawls but yeah, you're right, I remember the score being 8-5 and Pacioretty scoring at the end with a beautiful shot.

Hate this match up and anyone expecting an easy Bruins victory could be in for a nasty surprise. Too many bad memories in playing against the Habs.... And the Bruins record against them this year (despite the 7-0 drubbing) doesn't leave me feeling all warm and fuzzy.

And, on a completely unrelated topic why do fans of one team wish good luck to the fans of the team that they are playing? I get the whole "good sportsmanship" thing...but, in all honesty, I don't want the Habs to have good luck. In fact, I want them to have terrible luck.....the kind of bad luck that would cause them to lose the series. Don't get me wrong, I don't want them to get injured, hurt or seriously sick or anything like that....but I'd be thrilled if they all came down with a bad case of the flu that made it easy for the Bruins to win. Sorry, just being truthful.

Anyway...no predictions from me. Just praying to the hockey gods for a Bruins victory.

Its not necessarily the fighting but the Bruins are at their best when they're asserting themselves physically, using their size advantage and just playing aggressive. Sometimes it takes a fight to get them involved, they have a habit of going to sleep when the other team doesn't provoke them.

I love this match-up and I think the Bruins are going use it as a way to FAR in these playoffs.

I will say this however... IF the Bruins lose this series, it's going to crush me. HARD. I won't get over it for a looooong time.

So they'd better use the advantages they have in every area of the ice. They'd better play the Habs smart. They'd better play them tough. They'd better not blow it. It's a loss that will be lamented by (I'm sure many of us, but) me for longer than any series that I've seen to date as a fan.

If that is what your going by I would re-think your thought process.

Last year both of our starters were the back-ups behind Rask and Halak. Both players rebounded to have great years, both are probably 2 of the top 3 goalies this year.

Goaltending will be a factor, but it will come down to Montreal being able to play their speed game, or Boston able to hit and slow down the Habs to play their game.

Should be a good series.

I have the Habs in 6, no one is expecting a series win from the Habs. So no pressure.

why THIS series, and why YOU? did you start gambling with the rent money again?

why would it be worse than 02 or 04? 02 was 1 vs 8 for crying out loud. and don't even get me going on too many men on the ice.

Oh look at habs fan trying to tell us that our team is slow, must of missed that 7-0 drubbing. Isn't it sad that all they have to grasp at is this so called "speed"?

Montreal in 6.

If they catch us dopey in one of the first two we will be in big trouble. I think their speed and their PP will give us fits. Thomas has to steal us a game in Montreal. Yes we finished ahead of them, but these teams are much closer than the standings appear. I hate facing them for the fact we have seen them so many times. That being said I would be dissapointed if they lost - BUT - if you can live through the losses in '78 and '79 (which many of us did) - you can live through a loss in round one.

Here's hoping Bergeron comes up big.
