YES! All Dallas has to do is win, and I can finally see the Canucks in a playoff game, live!

The last seconds of that game really had my heart beating. So torn, I wanted the Wings to win but I didn't want Detroit to get the empty netter to tie us in G/G.

GO DALLAS!

Quenville ****ed over the Hawks in the last few minutes. Sending out your first unit right after they were just on the ice for a good 45 seconds prior to that was just a complete waste of time (and energy for that unit). Should have sent out the second unit for 30 or so seconds and then switched it up so at least his guys would've been a bit rested for the final drive. Not that it really matters anyways...odds are now that we'll play Dallas (they don't deserve to be in the playoffs if they can't beat a Wild team with that many players out).

There should be a bandwagon thread on our boards for people who want to join us this postseason.

Can someone confirm:

If DAL/MIN is tied tonight going into OT (dal needs to win before the SO), DAL cannot pull their goalie and score or they forfeit the 2nd point?

uh no that would be stupid.

They might forfeit the loser point, but who cares.

As has been pointed out, they would forfeit the loser point if they manage to lose during the time when their net is empty.

Quote:
84.2 Overtime – Regular-season – Extra Attacker - A team shall be allowed to pull its goalkeeper in favor of an additional skater in the overtime period. However, should that team lose the game during the time in which the goalkeeper has been removed, it would forfeit the automatic point gained in the tie at the end of regulation play, except if the goalkeeper has been removed at the call of a delayed penalty against the other team. Should the goalkeeper proceed to his bench for an extra attacker due to a delayed penalty call against the opposing team, and should the non-offending team shoot the puck directly into their own goal, the game shall be over and the team that was to be penalized declared the winner.

I thought pulling the goalie in overtime only means you forfeit the 1 Overtime loss Point you would otherwise have if you lose in Overtime.

I'm pretty sure Dallas can pull the goalie in overtime, win, and still get their two points.

They just forfeit the extra point if they lose with the goalie pulled.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Chicago had to screw up everything. San Jose just got a bye.

I was hoping to watch all our first round games in the Pacific time zone. I dont care who we face now.

Ok yeah, that's right thanks

So if the game tonight is approaching a SO we'll probably see Dallas pull their goalie

a Red Wing hit Brent Seabrook with a vicious blindside elbow to his head...no call on the play and no talk of suspension...the conspiracy continues

Dallas is an easier team but playoffs aren't playoffs if were not playing against Chicago.

I really don't know who I want to win. It'd be nice facing the Hawks, if we beat them the boys get a huge confidence boost.

Dallas seems like an easy matchup but you never know. To be honest I really don't care who we get as the eighth seed.

Travel time between Vancouver and either Chicago or Dallas is virtually identical. As the crow flies, 1769 versus 1780 miles.
