Wow, I never thought the Hawks could actually miss the playoffs.

Dallas can end another team's playoff hopes as well.

In any event, making the playoffs should be far more motivating than denying somebody else a spot.

This is it for Dallas - win or go home. If they don't come out absolutely flying, I'd be shocked.

It's about the Hawks missing the playoffs, not about LA vs Dallas.

I would have rather seen them play the Kings, but Dallas is an okay match-up too. I really don't want to have a Canucks - Blackhawks first round series though.

Dallas is 3-0 against Minnesota this year, and have back to back 4-0 wins against them.

Against the Canucks?

Dallas has been the worst team against the Canucks this year. They don't match up with the Nucks at all.

The Kings at least can shut it down defensively to a degree, not so with Dallas.

I can't believe how excited everyone around here is to avoid a team that just dressed Ryan Johnson as their 3rd line centre in the most important game of the season.

I don't care if we face them, but I would find it absolutely hilarious if they don't even make the playoffs.

Given that I don't care who we face, I'm fine with that. If Dallas chokes and we face Chicago, that's fine by me.

For me, it's just funny that they're going to miss the playoffs. If we do play them, they scramble around defensively, Crawford didn't look good, and their bottom six is just a bunch of dudes.

They're more excited about them missing the playoffs to rub it in the fans faces.

... back to before...

Nevermind, you're right. At the same time of the broadcast as the final day of the PGA Masters and a NBA end-of-season game, Joe American in bum****, AnyState, who is not into hockey would definitely be tuning in to this game.
Yeah, but I wasn't specifically saying this weekend. You said it was an overall thing with him. So, other weekends are possible too. Besides, if you were flipping and happened to see the end of the game - the buzz in the arena, people standing on their feet and intensity from even just a few seconds would have some people stop to see what's going on.

yeah, I couldn't stop laughing when I say Ryan freakin Johnson out there with under 4 minutes to go and needing a goal. Much different hawks team than last year where they could send Buff, Ladd, Versteeg, etc out there on their 3rd line when they needed a goal.

Also the team that eliminated us in an embarassing fashion in back to back years.

this is the Dallas stars... the team on top of the standings for most of the season then choking it away and now are fighting for their lives

counting on them could bite you in the back

I read from the Hawks forum that there's "No Havlat, Zidlicky, Backstrom, Madden, Schultz, Barker, Latandrese" tonight.

Don't know if it's accurate or not; if it is, well, I'll bet a lot on Dallas.

NBC just said that the Dallas/minny game will be on the NHL network. Does anyone know if that's limited to the states or will we be able to see that too?

The list for me on playing teams in the playoffs:

Preferences:

Worst:

Nashville
.
.
.
.
Anahiem
.
Chicago
LA
.
.
.
.
DALLAS!

Dallas is like the Canucks dream first round matchup out of the options.

Chicago wouldn't be that bad, I still think Nashville would have been the worst possible draw.
