Fire Kitchen - thread formerly known as Fire Q

He made some decisions all season long that were just stupid. Todays game is the biggest reason to fire him.

Any team with Toews, Kane, Hossa, Keith, Seabrook, Sharp, Campbell should not miss the playoffs, seeing as that's very likely I'd be all for him getting the toss.

Unfortunately he won't be fired this season, but I guarantee right now if this team comes out of the gates like **** next season, bye bye Q.

He won the ****ing cup. Nothing short of consecutive playoff misses - IF we miss this year - will get him fired.

yeah... our team was stacked. Almost every Coach would have won the Cup.

Look at the other Coachs in the NHL... where do you rank Q?
After this season, he isn't in the Top25

What alternative would be an upgrade? Torch? Haviland?

Havi could be worth a try. But Havi has to stay.

Kitchen and Q have to go

Q = WCF loss + SC Win + 97 pts ?

Yeah he is not being fired

Lets just make sure there aren't scrubs like Pisani , Dowell , Cullimore and Boynton on roster next year

Chicago won the cup inspite of Q, not because of Q. the sooner management realizes this the better.

as someone mentioned earlier, how does a team with Toews, Kane, Sharp, Hossa, Keith, Seabrook, Campbell not make the playoffs? chicago should be comfortably in the playoffs.

I'm stunned that you left Stalberg out.

I agree he isn't getting fired; nor does he deserve it. The team needs better depth, and Stan further handcuffed that possibility by overpaying Seabrook - with a NTC to boot.

This team was gutted of its glue/gritty players by Bowman...his job now is to locate some of those type guys...the hawks have the most important thing in talent, players with heart and soul should want to come and join them.

Personally I like Q and I just don't see how he's held accountable for the roster.

Not having Bolland and even Brouwer didn't help things for Q today either....but still the Nashville Predators have made the playoffs like the last 6 years in a row, they'll never win a Cup but the fact that we probably will miss this year with the core of a Stanley Cup championship team is pretty pathetic.

The whole year has been a mess starting with the gutting of the roster in the off-season, in the end what did we expect. The depth was ripped out of the team and our top forwards who despite being great players did'nt exactly challenge guys like the Sedins, Perry and the top guns in Detroit. Without our depth we became an average team overnight. Playing musical chairs in the net does'nt help either,,the last 3 years it's always a mystery who will be our number 1 goalie going into and up until halfway through the season.

This.

After going through the highs and lows of this season (mostly lows), I imagine we learn our lesson and don't expect much from bargain bin players that fill out our roster.

I wouldn't say fire Q, but we certainly need to have a big shake-up.

-Potentially gone: Dowell, Pisani, Kopecky, Brouwer, Stalberg, Hjalmarsson, Turco, Johnson, Frolik
-Staying: Toews, Kane, Hossa, Seabrook, Keith, Campbell, Sharp, Campoli, Bickell, Bolland, Crawford

I really hope the organization sits down and examines how things went wrong and where they need to improve. As long as we don't move away a core piece, I don't care what happens to this roster as long as it's built for the playoffs.

I agree with the first part but not the second. He makes the line combos. He's the guy who plays Pisani Dowell and Bickell when we're down a goal 10 minutes left in the season.

Kitchen is the one who needs to go!

Q will hopefully have a better team to work with next season.

This. It will take consecutive playoff misses for Q to be fired at this point.

Can we just turn this into the scapegoat thread? Call for Q's, Kitchen's, Stalberg's, Bickell's, and Brouwer's head on a platter in here.

How typical, scapegoat the first-year assistant rather than the head coach, blame the minimum-salaried scrubs rather than the underwhelming "core".
