The Hawks official website has been down for 15 minutes. At least the entrance page has been.

The main reasons why the Hawks failed this season was the worse than average bottom six, full of rookies. Overall got to say the top 6 guys performed pretty well this year. Seabs emerged as an alternative #1 with Keith having a Norris hangover. Hammer was pretty bad and needs to step it up big time to live up to his contract, I still think he has potential to be a top 4 d-man. Campbell was good and did his job. Crawford had a great season and showed he can be a #1.

Hossa stepped up big during the stretch run, so no. The bottom six and role players were pretty much fail the season.

We need some guys that can dish out the hits and have accurate passes/shots. This is where the team is weak.

Fire McD right now. Someone needs to put this clown in his place. Marketing does not bring you championships. The longer this clown runs this team we are screwed.

McDonough did not make this roster. He did not trade away Byfuglien, Vertseeg, Ladd and others. He did not leave this team mind numbingly soft. McD did not trade for Stalberg or sign Pisani. Oh and marketing has nothing to do with success on the ice. It just fills the seats and make the Hawks some $$$$.

If anyone is to be responsible for this debacle, and maybe nobody is given the cap problems heading in to last summer - but if someone has to be, Stan Bowman is your man.

Yeah it's Stan's fault for the $4 mil cap penalty.

This game is all Q's fault. No way in hell did the 4 th line deserve to on the ice in the 3 rd.

After his horrendous start Hammer was very consistant from late Dec thru end of year

He is a defensive dman and he did his job

1. fire Kitchen
2. blame Tallon before you ever consider blaming Bowman
3. Would you consider a Hossa trade?

Isn't Kitchen the PP/Offensive coach? The same PP that was 4th/offense that was 3rd in goals?

seems dumb.

IIRC
yes he is.

Our PP was awful almost every time we needed a goal. Our PP was awful - don't care about the stats because score 3 PP Goals against the Wild while leading with 3 isn't that hard

1- Kitchen wont be gone
2- I blame Tallon for alot ,, Bowman has to share some of the blame for his cap management this year (Carried extra salary all year that ate away cap room we would have had at deadline)
3- Nope ,, Hossa played well down the stretch and he signed his contract to finish career a Hawk. Moving Hossa leaves an even bigger hole on team

Kitchen was also the PK coach at the beginning of the year when it blew chunks.

Kitchen ran the PK at FLorida last year and it was 28th in the league. He leaves and they were 6th, this year.

Agreed. When he was overseeing the PK, they struggled. When he was overseeing the PP, they struggled. Whichever special teams unit Kitchen has coached has ended up in an epic failure. He sucked in Florida, and he sucked here. Haviland's great, but I really hope they don't intend on keeping Kitchen around for next year.

The extra he carried wouldn't have mattered.

I don't really think that Hossa is more important than Sharp. If Sharp leaves and Hossa/Seabrook/Bolland stay over him I'm more than pissed

They are going to have plenty of space for next year to revamp the bottom lines and add a top 6 player for $3+ mil
