What non-star steps up in Round 1?

Excluding the top guys and Niemi, who will put up better than expected numbers against the Kings?

Wellywood.

Defenses will key on the Thornton and Couture lines. The third line will be the difference maker.

Going for the fashionable pick of Wellwood. He's supposed to be something of a playoff performer, after all...

2008-09: 74GP, 18G+9A=27A regular (0.36 ppg) // 10GP, 1G+5A=6pts playoffs (0.60 ppg)
2009-10: 75GP, 14G+11A=25A regular (0.33 ppg) // 12GP, 2G+5A=7pts playoffs (0.58 ppg)

Demers, his game has been on a steady rise this season, and has really stepped up on the back end.

Didn't think I'd ever say it, but Mitchell. Finally found some linemates he clicks with. Has really boosted his game.

Wellwood drives me nuts by the way. He's worse than Thornton when it comes to refusing to shoot.

Demers was my second choice. i love his game, and he was the only one (other than Patty) to score against Chicago in the WCF.

it's his time to shine.

Also, the Big Pavelski will rise again!

ya but wellwood has a really weak shot. thornton has a really good hard shot so it sucks he refuses to shoot more.

Wellwood = Cody Ross - Waiver game changer
Wallin = Edgar Renteria - Overpaid under-skilled vet
Couture = Buster Posey - Stud rookie of the year

I feeling a Giants theme for these playoffs, hell, this franchise has basically tortured us for the last 10 years + Thornton and Marleau could very well out beard Wilson and Romo in a fortnight anyway.
