Cheapest ticket is 140$? That's a bit high. If the average seat costs 210$ that would make a 2 830 000$ ticket revenue.

They know that people are willing to pay anything for see ducks live. 199€ (Something like 270$?) is pretty damn much but probably i'll just pay it. If Selänne plays i will pay it. I wanna see him play Live and the ducks live for once even in my life.

Looking back, I am really happy I made the trip to London in 07. Paid something around 40 € for nosebleed seats there, with the entire trip being quite affordable. (Did pick the wrong game, though. )

Would definitely love to see the Ducks again, but right now the reality-imposed budget doesn't allow it.

Should be a fun trip.
Selanne will be there; retirement or not.

Last time (London), he and Scott missed out with the 1/2 season retirement plan.

What I can remember the tickets cost exactly as much as Wild vs. Hurricanes in Helsinki. I was sitting on the roof line and it cost 99 euros. What people sometimes forget bringing these NHL teams costs a lots of money. Flights, hotels, etc. plus compensation for the NHL teams that lose their normal revenues. This time it's only one game so sharing some of the budget with Stockholm organizers I guess. And when it's only one game this will be sold out quite easily. I'm going to buy both tickets against the Sabres and Jokerit 20th April. I guess I'll pass Stockholm.

Ducks/Kings in London 2007

Hey all,

I know it's the playoffs and not the ideal time for this but:

I am currently writing a paper in my Sports Management program about the big four games played in Europe and selected the Ducks/Kings in London. I have had mixed success in terms of sources and articles. Does anyone have any information as to why London was selected? And the Kings and Ducks, as well? I know the Kings were in large part, due to Anschutz and AEG owning the 02 Arena but cannot find substantial information on any of the involved parties or a really good profile Ducks ownership. Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I'm going to take a stab at it and say the Kings were selected because of AEG and the Ducks were selected because A.We're the Kings rivals and B.We were the defending Stanley Cup Champions.

I believe Burke said they were asked around the trade deadline. Was it in his TD blog? Or maybe it was just the state of the franchise, whenever that was. So the Ducks weren't the champions at the time.

Got my tickets too! Although I'm just going to the NHL -game. Game against Jokerit is going to be a bloodbath even if RPG plays for 5 minutes seriously.

Tickets have been on sell for 3 days to the Helsinki: Ducks vs. Sabres and they are selling good:

Grey: sold out
Lightest green: only few places left
Light green: about 2/3 sold
Green: section sold about half

I'm going. Stopping by AAA before work today. Is anyone else going from California?

I have signed up for information on the Ducks website but gotten no response. If anyone has contact information and sends it to me I will chase it down. I know that my wife (although not my checkbook) would love an excuse to go to Sweden and Finland.

Finally got my ticket for the game in Stockholm. I got to see Paul Kariya a couple of years ago, it would be really nice if Selanne gave it another year so I can see him before he retires too.

Is there any places to still get tickets aside from AAA? I wasn't sure I'd have enough to be able to go, but now it's looking like I might if I find cheaper places to stay.

Meh, the nosebleed tickets are 100 euros and I've already been to Finland twice: pass! I'll need to come to Cali to watch a live game it seems...

The practise game against Jokerit is going to be easy. If RPG plays even for 10 minutes, I can see Ducks winning it.
