Just a question... All though it's pretty apparent that Sami Vatanen is staying in Europe for at least another year do you think he'll get the opportunity to play in the season openers in Helsinki and possibly Stockholm. It would be pretty special I would think if his first NHL games were in Finland. Just kind of interesting....

I have been thinking about that too. We might start the season without one of our top defenders Lydman or Vishnovsky. Their recovery takes quite long and there might be a place for Vatanen. Although, we might need a long term solution than that.

2011-2012 Ducks' Schedule

Ok, so today, the Pre-Season schedule came out, and we are playing Phoenix, LA, San Jose, and VANCOUVER! Maybe this is a hint for next year's realignment.

So you're saying we'll be seeing more of Vancouver and its fans? **** Winnipeg.

I meant about the realignment thing. As in we will have to play them 6 times a year instead of 4.

I go to the games, I know they're a bunch of clowns. I was saying that we played them last pre-season as well, when there was no winnipeg.nhl.com

Canucks have been regulars on the pre-season schedule for a while.
What a waste of money

Poor explanation on my part.

When I said "play Vancouver more" and "screw Winnipeg" I wasn't referring to preseason. I meant if the OP was right in speculating that Vancouver will move to the Pacific because of Winnipeg, then I hate how it means we have to play them 6 times in the regular season instead of 4.

Although it is true that we have played them in preseason for a while, so their inclusion probably doesn't mean anything in terms of the realignment.

Preseason is all about travel. Those are simply the close teams in the Pacific time zone. I wouldn't read anything into it whatsoever.

Tickets for Ducks-Sabres -game are almost sold out, only around 100 left. Also, Ducks-Jokerit -match has only ~2000 tickets left. Very good numbers I say!

And NHL returned about 200 tickets back to selling. I wonder how many Ducks fans will travel here all the way from SoCal... last year the amount of Hurricanes fans in Helsinki was impressive...though they are closer to Europe.

Same here plus the Sabres game. And Leino signing there made this event even more special. I can't wait...

On 9/21 there's going to be a meeting with all the people going from Socal. It will be right before the Ducks vs the Sharks.

Ducks will play against Helsinki team Jokerit (my other favourite team) and here is the team's new jerseys...what do you think? (though there will be few sponsors logos to add on them later but not too many I guess)..

that's your opinion. The logo is pure gold all the way from 1967! voted the best outside NHL by THN and those jerseys have retro feeling in them. Well americans like Predators Sharks kinda logo stuff usually so I understand your comment. IMO those jerseys are badass!!!! And I'm drunk as hell atm...cheers! I'll order taxi and go see Flogging Molly!!!

J.Ruutu might be joining team Jokerit. There has been some serious rumors about this. Should be fun to see what it does to rivalry between Jokerit and HIFK since Ruutu has always been considered a HIFK -player 'cos he used to play there. And it would be interesting to see, how he plays against the Ducks.

Just realised that Antti-Jussi Niemi who played for Mighty Ducks plays for Jokerit. Too bad that Nokelainen went back to Phoenix, it would have been fun reunion of failed Finnish exDucks players. Only Antti Aalto is missing .
